valentineright now as it currently stands Parsons is making less than 1 mill… what type of contract do you think he will command.. will be around hayward’s( once he signs) or Nic Batums, what is his upside… did you think he would be this productive of a player when he was drafted, does Parsons have more potential than a pre-injured Gallo or Lance Stephenson
also could chandler parsons fetch a top 5 pick in this years draft, based on his contract and production
also what was Chandler Parsons player comparison on this site

joecheck88ParticipantWell I think it is tough to compare him to Lance or Gallo which I know wasn’t really your intent but he and Lance play different positions and styles. While Gallo is a very good scorer. Think Parsons fits into more of a poor man Iguodala role. I think he’s similar to Nic Batum but more versatile offensively and less of a defender. It’s going to be tough to pay him in Houston but I would give him 4 years at 32 mil. He just needs to be a little more consistent.

the I in winParticipantNot similar in style but for overall impact on a game by game basis I think Iguodala is a good measuring stick for how good Parsons can be. Iggy made an all star game (or maybe more I don’t remember) so I think Parsons should be able to at least sneak in as a reserve when he reaches his prime.
Someone else brought up the fact that coaches vote for reserves which could really help Parsons, the casual fan may not realize his impact but opposing coaches do.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI think he’ll look for 10m-12m a year.
I think Parsons has what it takes to be an All-Star. What he does for the Rockets goes beyond the stat-sheet, even though he shines there as well. He’s the heart of the team as well as our best perimeter defender.
Night in, night out, he’s guarding the best wing players on the opposing team. Anyone from LeBron to Durant to Melo to PG.
He’s also one of the most efficient players in the league, averaging 17.2 PPG off 12.9 FGA as the 3rd option on a playoff team.
If he were on his own team, he’d probably be averaging 22-7 a game rather than 17-6 as the 3rd option.
I think he’ll be a 2x All-Star by the time his career is over. He’s the Luol Deng of our team.

frogmanParticipantTrue… But being the Rockets best perimeter defender is like being the best performer in the Jonas Brothers – still not a massive achievement.

max23ParticipantIf he was on ,for example among other similar teams in the east, the raptors instead of Derozan,he would be an all star this year.

Jester87ParticipantHe deserves to go to the ASG more than half of the players that will make the team on the East, but in such a strong western conference is not even in the conversation. I don’t think it’s really relevant the All Star status, I mean going to the ASG depends on a lot of things (like fans votes or how good a conference is, injuries) so it doesn’t really mirror the real value of players. Kyle Lowry is almost a lock for the ASG this year, but honestly I think Lawson, Dragic or Bledsoe have been much better, they just have less chances in a stronger conference. So even if he doesn’t make the ASG, Parsons has shown he has everything to be a reliable second/third option in a solid playoff team (I’m not completely sold on Houston as a contender). That’s a remarkable achievement/status. I think he still has some upside, his shot can improve a little more. I used to like him a lot when he played for Florida, but I never thought he could become so good in the Nba. And honestly I think not even the Rockets scouts could foresee it, he was a mediocre shooter in college. If I recall correctly he was compared to Luke Walton here: it made some sense since both were point forwards in college, but while Walton was an even better passer, he was a worse shooter and a terrible athlete. I don’t know how much he’s going to ask, but if Marcus Thornton gets $8 million each season, Jeff Green $8.7, Thaddeus Young $8.8 I guess he’s not even going to start talks for less than $9 million.

Tallest Nigga N DA BuildingParticipantParsons is a great role player n think that will be his nba career i don’t think he has the game like that to be your number 1 or 2 option bcuz now teams will send doubles n defense things like that to stop him and he doesn’t have a great individual break down game like that. So his game on Houston is effective bcuz they STyle of play n the teams best defender will Neva guard him. His a great role player that can help a championship team then be a lead player that’s has to get his team to a championship.

King CaluchaParticipantI think he can be a solid 3rd option for a contending team and make a couple of all star games.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantWhat? He already established himself as being better than a role player in his 2nd year so how on earth could that be his upside?
