valentineD-Wade is averaging 22ppg and 6 assists on 52% fg.
I’m not sure too many guards can match those numbers. Everyone has unjustifiably hated on D-Wade. What more could the man have done for that franchise?
This also applies to Chris Bosh.
Haters gonna Hate, but I’ll give these guys a shoutfor everything they’re currently doing.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI don’t think anyone ever said that D-Wade was incapable of this or that his skill level was in question, the issue that was brought up over and over was his health and whether he’d be able to stay on the floor. He has been healthy, and thus he has played up to a standard we all would expect from a healthy Wade. Bosh in my opinion has been a bit disappointing, he’s shooting what would be a career low field goal percentage bar his rookie season, and is also turning it over at what would be the 2nd highest rate in his career. Maybe I had overblown expectations for him, but so far he hasnt been nearly as efficient as I would of expected him to be. But again, I heard very few people saying that he wouldn’t be able to do what he is doing right now, so I’m not sure what your point is.

xJumpManxParticipantHe has not played in 7 out of their 20 games. It will only get worse when the grind of the season kicks in.,

LindseyParticipantI would imagine the recovery period for a team losing a player like Lebron would take just as long, if not longer to regroup and gel as a unit, as the team receiving him. Bosh got pretty comfortable with James, gonna take him a while to get back that mentality of a first option.
Wades showing crazy levels of craftyness this year.

xJumpManxParticipantWade has missed 7 games of the 20 the Heat have played. I do not think anyone thought he was a not a quality player the issue is he can not be counted on to play enough. During playoffs will he even be able to play a series or will he need to rest again.

HitsterParticipantD-Wade has had injury issues in recent years and across a fair part of his career, I recall he missed a large chunk of a couple of their post 2006 championship seasons but then averaged 26.6 and over 30ppg in the next two seasons only missing a handful of games.
The big 3 era reduced all their outputs but it brought them two Championships and 4 finals, so we didn’t know exactly what D-Wade’s maximum current scoring could be. He has been filling up the stats sheet in the last week or so but the Heat have not been able to turn this into wins.
D-Wade is still an elite player but he is 33 next month and now into his 12th NBA season which with injuries mean he has a fair few miles on the clock so will not be the sort of player he was in say 2006 or 2010. But he is certainly using his basketball IQ and will score heavily by getting into good shooting positions.
I’d be interested to know if Miami only offered him a two year deal last summer as he had opted out of a more lucrative extension for the same period of time or whether D-Wade decided to be a team man and take less money to give the team more cap space.
With his new deal only being up to 2016, I do wonder if D-Wade might have one eye on retiring then or more likely only playing on if Miami were likely contenders and he was still playing to a good level. He’d only be 34 then but another season and a half wear and tear on him could mean he may have had enough then. D-Wade I doubt would need the money or really want to play for any other team if his family is settled in Miami and the Heat would likely offer him some sort of role in the front office if he wanted it. Pat Riley is 70 next year and I guess Lonzo Mourning might be being lined up to maybe take on that role in due course so a position could be there for D-Wade.
I hope that D-Wade doesn’t retire in summer 2016 but I could see him wanting to go out whilst still playing at a good level, he has his titles, isn’t chasing any real scoring landmarks etc.
