I have never in my 6 years on this site posted a trade idea, but that is going to change today. The trade I thought of is.

    Charlotte recieves: Kevin Martin

    Indiana recieves: Lance Stephenson

Minnesota receives: Luis Scola and CJ Watson (both on expiring deals). Picks from Indiana and Charlotte

This gives Charlotte a needed shooter and efficent scorer to play off of Kemba for the next two years.

Indiana had talked about wanting Lance back so they get him back and get back the formula that made them a contender before the meltdown in last years playoff.

Minnesota gets two expiring deals and more room to work in free agency and progress their rebuilding process.

Nice little idea actually, as Martin would give the Hornets finally the long-distance shooter they clearly need. Getting rid of Stephenson, who clearly doesn’t fit their team is also a nice plus. For Indiana I wouldn’t want Stephenson back, but if those are the messages from the Pacers camp it could be a nice fit. Minnesota would actually get the least out of this, as Martin is a solid player for whom they could get more than just a salary dump.

One option would be to include a fourth team for Minnesota to move Scola to; OKC is one team that comes to mind in need of an offensive minded PF and has plenty of talent they can’t play and develop they might be willing to part with. In addition I believe Charlotte has to give a 2nd rounder to Minnesota in this deal.

They wouldn’t give up cap space for a player they already let go.

Probably the first good trade idea I’ve ever seen on here.

If anyone can turn around Lance & mold him into the star that he can become, it’s the Pacers. He’s clearly outlived his welcome in Charlotte and doesn’t fit well with Walker.

Charlotte needs perimeter shooting, so it makes sense for the Hornets.

The T-Wolves are in asset adding mode, and K-Mart doesn’t fit in to their future.

    Win-win-win in this deal.
