The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhat are the Celtics going to do to compete again?? I cant see them resigning everyone.. Right now they have only 7 players on their team.. Avery Bradly is one and he isnt ready to contribute at the championship level so he is out..
Rajon Rondo
Ray Allen
Paul Pierce
Kevin Garnette
Jermaine O’Neal
Nenad Krstic
Avery BradlyThe only player I can see them really trying to resign is Jeff Green.. However, I do think that the market for him is going to be a tough one.. People want a player that has shown flashes of being great.. He is young and versatile and might commant close to 10 million a year.. A Josh Smith type of contract.. Big Baby is going to be just that, a big baby. He is going to want more money than he is worth and cause the Celtics to go for someone else. They drafted Etwan More and JaJuan Johnson.
I think they should go after Reggie Evans to fill the voild that Perkins left.. Evans is older and knows what he can and cant do.. I think he would fit perfet next to KG. Then, they need a scoring wing, ready to win a championship.. Getting Jamal Crawford would be one of the few things that could help this team fight the Heat for the conference finals.
PG: Rondo/Crawford
SG: Allen/Crawford
SF: Pierce/Green
PF: Garnette/Green/Evans
C: O’Neal/Evans/KrsticThat could be enough to get them back to where they were when they won a championship.
This team is running out of time to compete. They need to take some risks, even if they arent popular ones, to make another stand for a year or 2..

providencefriars1ParticipantI thought they matched an offer to Jeff Green before the lockout started, maybe it wasnt official. You can pencil in Moore and Johnson too since most NBA rookies sign with the teams that drafted them.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantMaybe they did… IDK.. I think that both rookies will get signed and Johnson has to since he was a first round pick but I dont see him in their plans for the next year or 2.. Also, Moore was a second round pick so he isnt guarnteed anything.

iguapops420ParticipantI like Evans and Crawford both, but personally I’d go after Kwame Brown to take on the Perkins role, and perhaps simply moving Pierce or Allen to a 6th man role for one more year. Seeing if an addition or 2 can get them back to the big dance, if not, simply make some noise with either a trade ir a big signing in 2012 offseason and perhaps resign the older cats to a far cheaper contract. Personally just don;t see them making many moves this year.
Like I posted recently, personally I’d send Rondo,Green, Bradley,Johnson,JO and a 1st for CP3 and Ariza. Start Ariza at the 3 over Pierce for 25-28 mts for defensive attitide and transition buckets. Sign Kwame and Evans(Insurance) and Redd.
Kwame/Evans
KG/BB
Ariza/Pierce6thman
Allen/Redd/Moore
CP3/Delonte
Surely just pipe, but it’s a thought.

NO EZ BUCKETSParticipantAt this point the celts don’t really have a center.
J. O’neal- Missed a big chunk of last year due to injury. When he was playing he didn’t have a big impact on the game. So I don’t think we should expect him to play an entire year at center.
Kristic- He signed overseas(serbia?)
Evans- Not big enough to play lots of mins at center.
I really think they need to push for Deandre Jordan. They need athletecism, shot-blocking, and rebounding. Jordan can bring all of that. In addition, he is young so he is less likely to already be out of gas by the playoffs.
If they can’y get Jordan I think Kwame Brown would be a nice 2nd option.
Why wouldn’t they sign Wafer or West? I also think you are underestimating Avery Bradley. He showed flashes of brilliance last year and I think its not crazy to think that he could get a fair amount of minutes next year.
And I think Big Baby Will want too much money so I think a sign and trade would be a very smart move

iguapops420ParticipantAgain, I say Kwame. People underrate his positional defense and hustle. He’s everybit as good a defender as Perkins, and having KG beside of him could potentially be a 10-10 guy for the C’s similar to Perk. After all, Perk was proven to be a product of the C’s once traded to OKC.
