The Cavs make two separate trades.

1. Luol Deng to the Rockets for C Omar Asik & Ronnie Brewer (throw in)
2. Tristan Thomspon for SF Evan Turner

#1…. It seems like not enough for Deng since they gave up picks for him, but Asik is signed for 2 years and the Cavs need a rim protector. The bigger question is: do the Rockets need Deng? They wanted a PF to pair with D.Howard, and Terrance Jones has stepped up. They’re still thin there. Deng is 6’9" can play a little PF, especially considering he looks a lot bigger than 220, and he was getting 8 rebounds a game for the Bulls. Mostly he’d make for a great 6th man at the 3 and 4. I think the Rockets want to go for it and Asik is sort of wasting away.

#2…. Tristan Thompson is already redundant and would be more so if Varajao became the PF. It would help the 76ers in the building process, as Thompson can be developed more.

I’d say make a 3-way deal, but if the Cavs trade Deng, they can’t send any other player somewhere else at the same time.

Rockets have to include a pick to make this work: then it might have a chance. 

Also like your second trade, which is unconventional (with TT being included) but not bad. This gives Bennett more opportunity, they can play Turner at the 3: makes sense actually.
