With all of these talks of the Cavs trading down, collecting assets, and then drafting Embiid at a later pick, it’s looking like they could get completely screwed. Now, let’s look at the most likely trade down scenario. Cavs trade #1 for #5 and Favors. Jazz will take Jabari. Bucks take Wiggins/Exum, and the Sixers take whoever is left of Wiggins/Exum. Then, we got Orlando at 4. Now, I don’t really see Orlando taking Embiid. They have a bad history at retaining franchie centers. However, the Celtics have been rumored to want to trade up for Embiid. As well, it is rumored that, if the Love trade blows up, they would be willing to deal Rondo. Would the Magic turn down Rondo for #4 and one of Tobias Harris/Mo Harkless? I don’t think so. Bang! Cavs miss out on Embiid, while simultaneously being left with BPA’s who don’t at all fit their need. The Celtics could also not move Rondo and offer #6 and an asset to move up. Same deal. CAvs are in dangerous waters

The reporter that first got the story was from Cleveland, and as far as I’ve heard, Burks hasn’t been included.

Yea im with Ballinmvp I dont think its rocket science you either draft Wiggins or Parker or you trade the pick for an established superstar not much to really talk about.

It’s too many rumors going around, I know teams are exploring options but I would be surprised if the Cavs make a major trade. Just take wiggins or Parker, it’s really that simple.

Cavs will draft wiggins or parker, then they will decide if they want to trade with whom ever draft embid, this way the cavs can get more in return for their pick or just keep it

I think they have another prospect in mind that they could trade down and get him easily.

Honestly if the Cavs want to trade down and still get Embiid there is only one place they can safely do that. That is trading down to #3 with the Sixers. It lets them get Wiggins and then the Bucks will take Parker or Exum- as it has been discussed for a while that they really don’t want to move their #2 pick.

Not just because I’m a Sixers fan, but any trade down past #3 is a risk that you lose Embiid. The Sixers very well could take Embiid at #3 if Wiggins is gone, the Magic could take Embiid at #4, and both teams have the option of trading back down to someone like the Celtics, Lakers, or Kings(Embiid and Cousins are great compliments to each other). If Wiggins and Parker go 1/2 then it creates so many more trade down scenarios

or Parker. If they wanted Embiid then they would pick Wiggins or Parker, which ever one they want more then trade him to the team that sucessfully drafts Embiid. Why would they do the trade prior to knowing who would be available at 3, 4, 5? You make the pick then trade once somebody gets the guy you want, not before. It eliminates any risk. So in that scenario the worse you end up with is Wiggins or Parker if a deal doesn’t get done, which is probably the best case scenario anyway.

Personally I think they are going to take the pick and keep the player.

Why the Cavs are even considering selecting and then trading Wiggins for Embiid lower is proof to me that they do not realize they have just doubled down in the luck department. Embiid breaking his foot before the draft is huge for Cleveland. No doubt. Imagine if he had broken it in training camp. They need to stop trying to find a senario where still aquiring Embiid looks good on paper because there is no clear future for Embiid right now. Right now Wiggins fills a lot of the Cavs long standing on-the-court needs and they’re not thinking clearly if they are locked in on selecting and then trading him. Wiggins is the answer in Cleveland.
