Andrew1984ParticipantIt’s being reported that the Cavaliers have offered David Blatt their head coaching position and the sides are currently working on a contract.
Blatt must have sold Gilbert and Griffin of his ability to get the most out of Kyrie Irving more than Lue did. Tyrese Rice stole the show in the Euro League title.
Gilbert makes a splash in bringing the first European coach straight to an NBA head coaching job. Griffin gets an offensive “genius.”

BA30ParticipantDo you have a source for this? I am not sure this is a smart move for the Cavs, but I don’t know Blatt well enough and I wasn’t in the interview.

CavFanPRParticipantWould be an upgrade over Mike Brown, in my opinion. He’s been coaching for more than 20 years but at 55 years of age, he seems to be great at communicating with young players, something you couldn’t say about Mike Brown.

TenSecondTomParticipantHe has led his team to many championships in Israel and if anyone knows Euroleague basketball they would know how dominant Real Madrid’s team was this year (I think there was a post earlier which mentioned the possibility that they were the best ever overseas) he coached his team to a huge upset in the finals and I believe he deserves his shot in the league. Should provide a good chance of pace for the ISO-heavy, glorified AAU style of play the nba has grown accostomed to. Messina and Obradović really should have gotten a shot by now.

tidhoParticipantHe’s not going to get outcoached in the NBA very often. Great hire…..if they can get it done.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Cavs have to be the dumbest organization in sports. They shouldn’t have made their coaching hire until finding out if LBJ was opting out and considering them or not.

BA30ParticipantThere is a slim to none chance that Lebron returns to Cleveland this offseason. Didn’t they already spend 1 summer waiting on what Lebron was going to do? Their whole world doesn’t revolve around him, even if he is the best player on the planet.
