Twolves need to trade the pick or trade some players. I dont see why you would draft Williams and keep Beasley, Randolph and Wesley Johnson. Kevin Love is best at the 4, so that means the mins at the 4 will be hard come by. Then You have a huge logjam at the 3. Doesnt make sense. Somebody game is going to suffer tremendously.

Forget the Cavs getting Kyrie Irving, the big part of that post on ESPN is that the Timberwolves are still committed to making dumb decisions. I’d personally draft Kanter or trade back to 4 and try to get Kanter, since Utah is so seemingly in love with Brandon Knight. Now they’ll have beasley who I personally think will always be better the Derrick Williams, Derrick Williams, Anthony Randolph, who the Timberwolves are trying to make a center but he can play all 3 top positions, wesley Johnson who started at the 2 but is a natural 3, Martell Webster, same situation, Lazar Haywood, a first round pick from last year. Why have a roster filled with one position? If they make that reported trade for Derozan that eliminates one piece in Wesley Johnson but what about the other 5?

T Wolves can’t really screw up with Williams and Kanter being on the board at 2.  Well, unless they trade one of those guys.  If they want to play it safe then take Kanter to give them a big, high-scoring front line.  Or they could roll the dice and get Williams to form a great forward combo with Kevin Love (and a good target for Rubio’s passes), then trade Beasley for some help at the 2 guard spot and maybe another big man.

I think Utah takes the other guy.  Chad Ford has Irving at 1, then Williams and Kanter at 2 & 3 (forget which order) then Brandon Knight at 4.

So Cleveland will pick TWO point guards.  Maybe they plan on starting four point guards like Villanova.

No idea why they would do that, but everyone knows Irving would be the 1st.  He’s the safest pick.

Utah needs a center.  Kanter is a center.  Then they need to pray that Jimmer is there at 12.  Then Utah WINS this draft with Minny coming in 2nd with the pick of Derrick Williams.  Minny has the 20th pick too and really can’t screw it up unless they take another forward (I mean, they COULD…).  With the 20th the T Wolves could take Jeremy Tyler and completely nail this draft.  If the Wizards end up with Vesely and if he is the freakishly long and athletic small forward that I think he is then they finish 3rd in this draft.  Or they could end up with Kawhi Leonard who might be a safer pick (or if The Flying V is off the board).  The Kings finish 4th (or even 3rd) if they can come away with Jimmer (thereby getting the guy that Utah needs) to be the other guard.  Another solid option is picking Kemba Walker.

In the second round I guess the Cavs could take Nolan Smith who helped Duke win the ACC tournament, was the ACC player of the year, and one of the best playmakers/guards in the country last year.  Then, the Cavs can finally settle who is better: Kyrie or Nolan.

Not sure what Toronto does. Not sure that they can get to the playoffs anyway.  Jonas the Big Man is a decent option.  Kemba Walker is a better option.

Motie is a European guy who is really tall and can shoot and score.  Too bad those kind of guys can’t win championships in this league.  LOL.   … I want to see him go to a team that either has a good center who can defend and block shots (the Bucks) or a team with an awesome scoring backcourt and a guy inside that can gobble up rebounds (the Warriors).  He could be a guy with great upside.

If the Bulls can come away with a player (or two) who can really help them then they will be a BIG winner in this draft.  This year’s final four teams have late first/early second round picks in a draft with some solid role players that will be drafted outside the lottery and into the mid/late second round.  The Mavs have a solid first round pick as do the Thunder.  The Heat pick at 31.  The Grizzies (the fifth member of the 2010-2011 Fab Five) picks at 49 where the pickings are slim but there still might be some talent there.  If the Grizzlies keep OJ (which they should) then the Grizzlies are one of the deeper teams in the league with 5 legit scorers (Z Bo, Gay, Gasol, OJ Mayo, Mike Conley) and one of those good backup power forwards that all of the contenders seem to have these days (Darrell Arthur).  The Grizzlies don’t have to hit a home run but they can’t totally whiff either.  Good, cheap, young talent doesn’t come around very often (usually only in late June at the draft).

One of the underrated keys to the draft is the Heat and their need to get a quality player.  The Heat have a great Big Three but not much else.  Chalmers is good but is going to get a big raise.  Udonis Haslem is a good one and their most reliable bench player.  Joel Anthony is decent but he can’t score.  Mike Miller is a solid vet but he had a really bad year and is basically untradable.  The Heat don’t have many draft picks going forward, and even if they did they would be one of the last picks of the first round (at best), so they really need to build depth through the draft.  Right now they really only have 7 1/2 guys: Wade, James, and Bosh as the primary players, Chalmers as a scorer/shooter at point guard, Haslem as a reliable big man off the bench, Joel Anthony as a shot-blocker who shouldn’t be playing more than 25 minutes a night, and Mike Miller who can hit some jumpers, and create, but can’t play defense at all, and should only be used about 10-15 minutes a night.  James Jones can hit some 3’s but he doesn’t really do much else.  An ideal 9th guy who plays 10 or so minutes a night.  … and that’s about it.
