Da1potParticipantAnother game in which Kobe tried to do to much……… 7 turnovers against a mediocre defensive Cavs team…. Gasol was killing it today and should have had several more shots…..

llperezas a laker fan, really nothing to say. Gasol was the only guy who brought it. Kobe sucked. Bynum was 2-12 and was missing 3 footers. Brown had one of the most head scratching plays of the season when he grabbed an offensive rebound 8 feet from the basket with 4 seconds reminaing in the 3rd and immediately dribbled out behind the 3 line and jacked it up as if his team was down 3 at the end of the 4th. Even the announcers were in shock on that one. Defense was awful. All we laker fans can do is hope they rethink things in during the all-star break and pick it up.

sheltwon3ParticipantI actually want Sessions to go to a better team, I remember getting clowned for believing Sessions was a good player and very good point guard. I think because of the moves he made and the teams he was on, he could never showcase what he could do until recently thanks to injuries to Mo Williams. Mo played but it was clear that during his time away Sessions needs minutes. I still think he is starting point guard and that if he was in the place of Rondo on the Celtics they would be a better team or very close to where they are now.

Stanford hoops1Sessions has played this well before. His problem is consistency. And Sessions wouldn’t make The Celtics a better team come on now once again you’re going overboard. His defense is nothing like Rondos( even before this game where Fisher got buckets) and one game he will play well the next he looks like a third string
As far as the Lakers I’m not too happy but also not to surprised. The Clippers were one of the worst teams last year and took us out. Pretty much the Lakers can lose to any team in the regular season, I’m just glad the playoffs isn’t one and done. I can’t blame Kobe too much because the bigs got the ball alot this game (Bynum was 2-12 and Gasol went to work) but our defense was just plain awful.

llperezim not tripping out on losses or overreacting, but there are a few things that you cant just turn off or on. How often bynum gets touches is something that needs to be figured out now. Ron artest dissapearing needs to be figured out now. I think the defense will pick up, kobe will get it going and the team will focus when they have to. But the cavs???

Stanford hoops1Yeah I’ve heard that the last two years actually. Thats the good thing about playoffs, its a 7 game series not one game. The lakers have had bad loses every year to bad teams( i think we lost to the worst team in the NBA last year) and i know we lost to the bobcats every title year. And on here i remember people saying the Thunder would beat us after tying it up then the suns had a chance and the Celtics were gonna win. I used to debate about it before the first year we won then again last year but not as much. This year i don’t even debate since they know what it takes to win a series and knowing a title isn’t won in feb( stole that one from the Espn and TNT crew lol). But none laker fans are more than welcome to doubt as usual, makes it that much better come playoff time:)

KayjayParticipantSeems like everyone is able to beat the Lakers these days. I remember a time where you wouldn’t even bother watching a game if your team was playing them because more often than not your team would lose. But now…ohhhh boy.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIt’s one thing to lose. It’s a WHOLE other thing to lose to bad teams, get BLOWN OUT by decent teams, and get demolished by good teams.

llperezthe sorry thing is when the lakers started this 7 game road trip, they were 4-0 vs solid teams(new orleans, memphis, boston, NY) and everyone was saying they are focused and kobe is playing great. Then they proceeded to play like crap the last 3 games and all that positive momentum just flew right out the window.

Stanford hoops1Come on now you should be used to this. Lakers start losing and people say how bad they are and how they won’t make it past this or that round etc. Then they win and its wow they look good and this and that. Gotta be used to it by now. I’m looking at some of the post from last year and some mirror the one’s this year. Many said we won’t get past Utah, Alot said This is the Cavs year and others saying The magic is finally ready. Wait till next year after They win the title again, you will see these same posts

SteroidParticipantThe Lakers seriously need to figure out the problems with Artest and solve their PG problem. They won’t win another championship if their 1 & 3 positions play this badly. I’m not just talking about this game. Over the course of this season, the scoring they get from those two positions is pedestrian.. Artest’s defense right now isn’t even worth the play he is putting up on offense, and don’t even get me started about Fisher. He would make a good assistant coach or something or a player coach type of thing because they honestly don’t need him on the floor for his leadership or whatever he brings.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t know… I don’t think this year is similar to the last two. The Lakers look WAY more vulnerable this season. The problem is you Lakers fans are spoiled and complacent lol.
I see no reason to think the Lakers will beat the Spurs when the Spurs have been better the entire season and look like the better ball club at all aspects of basketball.

Stanford hoops1I see no reason to think the spurs will win because this is the regular season. Cavs sure did look like title contenders the last two years just like these Spurs. Denver looked very good as well as Dallas. Lakers and Boston didn’t look to good. Has nothing to do with being complacent and everything to do with seeing the type of team the Lakers are in the playoffs. That’s probably Why non laker fans on tv still have the Lakers as the favorite to come out West. They don’t have short term memory and know how the Lakers turn it on come playoff time. Not the best way to do things but hey if it works then ya go with it

canesboy6ParticipantI think they are in trouble.
If they had the chance to get Melo for Bynum straight up, or anything close to straight up, and didn’t then they are beyard TARDED. Everybody says you can’t get guys like Bynum, they are All over the place. Biggest paper tiger in basketball. They won a title without him with basically the same team.
Its not even this game. Its been all year. They’re just very beatable, and lack some of the pieces they had to just turn it on like they used to. Fisher is a year slower, and just can’t guard anybody for 20 mins a game even right now. Blake isn’t any sort of answer. Artest has mailed it in for whatever reason, and he just isn’t the kind of guy I’d want to have to rely on for it all to work. After Kobe, who isn’t a consistent dominator anymore, and Gasol, who can be if they let him, they are Lamar Odom and the old guys.
Boston or Miami this year. I don’t see anybody in the West. I think that Chicago would probably beat whoever the west puts out.

canesboy6ParticipantI think they are in trouble.
Stanford hoops1lol every year you gonna have people on here that look at the regular season and think that’s how the playoffs will turn out, forgetting that the playoffs is a whole different season. Now if it was lose and you’re out i’d be pretty worried. I’d be more than pretty worried actually to be honest

SteroidParticipantI concur… Hinrich would be a great fit for the Lakers. Like you said, he is a really good defensive player, mobile, and he can score. They need to shake this team up before the trade deadline. That is for sure. They need some young legs on the team. I think one of their biggest problems is getting killed in transition and not scoring in transition. I thought Shannon Brown would step it up to another gear this year, but I was wrong. He’s playing slightly better than last year, but at the beginning of the year, he showed a lot of promise.

andxxxParticipantThe Spurs are playing a different style this year which relies on them running more and going through the guards it’ll get you a lot of wins in the regular season, but in the playoffs when the game slows down…the Lakers bigs would take advantage once the playoffs hit

Stanford hoops1Spurs offense does look very good this year and they are running alot. There defense hasn’t been so great though which is gonna hurt them when the game slows down in the playoffs

butidonthavemoneyI thought the Cavs would make the playoffs. They aren’t as spirited as I’d hoped they would be.
I agree that this doesn’t really mean anything in the grand scheme of things. The Lakers are still the defending champs.

Stanford hoops1They usually have a better defense than that. and the Lakers step up there defense in the playoffs. We know the Spurs are playing the best they can and work hard every game we also know the Lakers on the other hand don’t do that. They act like they are the old schools bulls and can turn it on and off whenever( not the best plan but it seems to work for them)
Yeah i thought the Cavs would make the playoffs this year as well. Did Dallas get past the first round last year even though they looked pretty good last year?..

llperezlol, we’ll see. You know out of all the pac 10 teams, i have seen stnford the least. Missed the last game betwen the two. Im curious to see what they look like. I believe i predicted ucla to finish 2nd in the pac 10 and top 25 overall and was called out by people such as yourself for that, they are currently second and making a run at a top 25 spot…

llperezkobe is mr crutch? Kobe played bad, but he didnt shoot them out of it, they should have beat cleavland with kobe not even in the lineup. You can always tell the haters/new fans becasue they will say kobe shouldnt be taking 20 shots based on a couple losses. You have to ride the boat with great players, you cant pick and choose when they get to take shots. ANd 5 titles in ill take kobe’s good with his bad.

NYK2010ParticipantNo one is really scared of the Lakers like in the past.
Kobe is definately slowing downa little, Artest outside of his dirty play what does he really do.
Fisher is old and getting beat by every PG. No longer is this the best team in the league.
Losing to plenty of elite teams and now the Bobcats and Cavs too.
This wasn’t a game on a back to back night either.

NYK2010ParticipantOkay I should rephrase that the elite teams aren’t scared of the Lakers, especially the Celtics and Spurs.
Yeah the Lakers are still the chanmps but they have a lot more holes and the league has caught up.
Look at the competition they faced in the West Conf. Finals the last 2 years in the playoffs compared to the teams this year.
The Spurs are better than the Nuggets and Suns of the last 2 years. The East Conf. winner most likely the Celtics are deeper and despite their age seem to be a better team. Also the Lakers won’t have homecourt advantage outside of the first 2 rounds most likely. You’ll probably say it doesn’t mean much but its doubtful the Lakers win the title last year without homecourt.

Stanford hoops1Should have beat the Spurs that last game that they won by the tip. and The Lakers went to Boston and beat them so they know they can still beat them. Lakers have the second best Road record so winning on the Road won’t be to hard for them.
And like i said before i hope peopel don’t get regular season confused with playoff basketball. (prob wont matter since the same people had crowned the Cavs as the champs and the Celtics as one and done)

They are still legit title contenders but probably not the favorite.
