td8118ParticipantThe consensus seems to be that Turkolu was a better player then Vince, IDK if I’m ready to concede that…Turkolu obviously caused mismatch problems, but I think Vince is a better passer and scorer…Also, the real changer to the Magic making them a legit contender was signing Bass.. They now have legit power foward to bang around with Howard, and most importantly frees Lewis to play the wing, where I think he will break out….Turkolu may be a “better” mismatch then Carter, but the Magic are certainly better this year as a team

Anton123ParticipantIMHO Hedo is better, in the play offs he was pure hustle, even called the MJ from Turkey, though the addition of Barnes and Bass certainly makes them better. If Nelson gets injured again they will have guard problems having traded Alston and Lee

quincey hodgeslol..the mj from turkey..thats funny..thats liek a heard a announcer refer to some guy from iraq the mj or iraq..or that kid they called the jewish jordan. i recall vince being refered to as mj once also

Toronto16ParticipantI don’t know, this is Vince’s first chance where his team is a LEGIT title contender. So who knows, he might show up every night.

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantTurkoglu is a good point-forward which they needed last year because of Jameer Nelson’s injury. So last year Turkoglu was better for Orlando. This year, with this years team I think Vince Carter is the better fit for Orlando.
Although, It’s hard for me to decide which would have been better. Keeping Lee and Turkoglu or Vince Carter.

quincey hodgesim not worried about him not showing up. he showed up for toronto untill the end and he showed up with the nets so nothign really to worry about there. i guess people just liek to bring up stuff from the distant pass liek ron artest being a trouble maker back in his indy days yet in sac and houston he was a model citizen..

gatorheelsParticipantVince Carter was a pretty substantial upgrade over Hedo. You will all see that this season. I’m not sure why everybody thinks Hedo is better than Carter. I think the public saw Hedo make a few clutch shots in the playoffs now all of a sudden he is a star. Vince Carter overall is the better player.
It really comes down to this….
Who would you rather have?
Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston, & Hedo
or
Brandon Bass, Ryan Anderson, & Vince Carter
Personally I’m taking the 2nd option everytime

quincey hodgesi think id take the second option as well..although hedo was pretty good..i think it was a win win either way

td8118ParticipantBeing a Nets fan, I don’t think people realize how Good Ryan Anderson is and can be…He is a future all-star in my opinion and its gonna suck loosing him although i love Courtney Lee also

llperezI don’t know about calling Andersen an all-star, but I agree he was a very overlooked addition by the Magic. I watched him a lot at CAL, and he should fit in great with Orlando’s style of spreading the floor for Dwight. Additions of Carter, Bass, Andersen, Barnes and return of Nelson absolutley keeps Orlando right in the title picture.

JNixonParticipantVince is better to me, he is better at every aspect to me. Except Turkoglu is more unselfish, and he tries to defend more during games than Vince. When Vince tries on D, he’s better than Turk when he tries. I think Vince Carter and the other signings and deal they made have made them a truly good team, and they are probably the Celtics main competition in the East.

arc1212Participantvince is a much better player than hedo…no question and i love hedo
i think trading alston will hurt them as well as lee but alston more
if jameer stays healthy than they shouldn’t have to many problems with all the new additions
the one thing about turkoglu though is that he does too much damn dribbling….i know he was sort of a point man for them but still….didn’t really like all that dribbling0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/03/2009 - 12:24pm #209643
sakuragi84Participanti don’t know if people remember but Vince used to be pure clutch for the raptors. he would get so many buzzer beaters for them, he just didn’t get it when it mattered the most, against the 76ers in the playoffs =( so my 2 cents is that Vince is better. moves better, handles the ball better, has nicer passes and has a good shot. he can also electrify the crowd.

KevinDurantRocksParticipantLewis Post alot more thats why he had more points in seattle because he is one of the most underrated post players in the league

quincey hodgesanderson is good but all star is really pushing it

OhmilantaParticipantthey shud have traded rashard lewis somehow so that way they could have kept hedo and vince on the same team.
pg: jameer nelson
sg: vince
sf: hedo
pf: bass

thetruthParticipantwas good at bring the ball up the court and cause matchup problems. but when it came time for the postseason he never showed up.

llperezI thought Hedo did well in that Clevland series. I was surprised that lebron and delonte weren’t able to pressure him more and force more turnovers from Hedo. But Carter should be better for the Magic.

marcusfizer21ParticipantVince Carter is always a clutch performer but he never did show it during playoffs… This is his chance to prove critics that he can do so on the biggest stage which is the playoffs… The playoffs are where the best players showcase their true skills… All the regular season clutch are going to be overshadowed if he performs even better in the playoffs… I think VC is definitely a better upgrade than Hedo… Hedo may be a proven scorer and can sometimes make plays but the thing that annoys me as I observed the Orlando games is that he seems to be holding on to the ball more than anybody else on the court for the Magic which is somewhat annoying to me… There are times that he takes matters into his own hands instead of setting up the right play… It is definitely a great decision by Orlando to take a chance on Carter, who needed an opportunity such as this to try and lift up his confidence… Though he may never be the Air Canada that he once was, he’ll still be a capable scorer who is going to be a dagger on every opponents minds.

McWinningParticipanthe was with a legit contender in New Jersey. he had three All-star talents with Jefferson, Kidd, and Martin that team was stacked.
