Before I get negged… and some makes a comment about picking darko over him in the 03’ draft…complain about their current cap space (lack of) Just here me out

Melo would be a great addition because he would give them the much needed scoring from the perimeter.  The Stanely Johnson experiment need to end. He no more than a 10th man. Offensively, Carmelo has enough fire power to still give about 18ppg . He would fill the void of a much needed sf and should do well playing alongside Drummond and. Griffin. Some would say he’s a black hole on ofense, but when you have two passive bigs the offense can run through either. It would give them another scoring punch and should be a good fit next to Kennard, who should make strides after having a solid rookie season. Also having Casey as a coach gives him more freedom.  Grabbing melo would put the pistons in the upper tier of the Wide open EC.  Finally, if Reggie goes down (again) then we would still have a mouth scoring between griffin and melo. He would be good on a one/2 year deal.

We need to make space for him. Luer, Galloway and/ or Jackson should all be on the trade block.

I support this move. Drummond, Griffin, Melo, Jackson combo would provide so little court spacing you could sit 4 players in the lane every possession.

I see this as a No chance move, since neither Melo or Detroit would be interested.  Melo is tryig to hook up with a contender/friends and Detroit wouldn’t want a ball dominant/needy player who plays very little defense.

Plus one for thinking outside the box with this idea man. If you think about it, you realize this would help both teams on the court but comes with massive financial complications for both teams and in reality Melo would never wave his no trade clause for playing with the Pistons even if the team has a chance in the east now. Melo will for sure hook up with one out of CP3 or LeBron if no trade happens which is the most likely scenario considering the Thunders immense tax bill.

As a buyout candidate I think he will go to the Lakers but who really knows what happens with him.

Unfortunately Melo does not let basketball play a part in his choices when making basketball decisions.

He states he wants to win, but we’ve seen him refuse to fit the systems he’s in, refuse to change roles or come off the bench, publicly disagree with coaching or organisational plans and when he’s been identified as someone that should be moved, he will hang on to his no trade clause for dear life. He is 34 going on 40, he hasn’t defended for years, he doesn’t pass, he is not a 3 and not a 4, his offense consists of contested long 2s in isolation which does not work, plus he’s generally given everyone a poor opinion of himself publicly and I have no doubt winners don’t want to play with someone that’s going to have tantrums every 5 minutes. I will be surprised if he doesn’t hold out asking for 15+mil a year after he is moved. I would rather sign Larry Sanders.

There is no way he’ll go to Detroit. Miami if they put an umbrella in his drink or Houston, where he won’t last the season. Send this guy to China.

Interesting idea but could Melo still play full time SF in  the NBA game in game out. Plus I agree he wants to be on a contender. I’m surprised GSW haven’t offered him 10th spot in their rotation to see his reaction,

Personally I think he’ll end up in Houston unless the Miami lifestyle appeals to him.
