Wondering what people think of his pro prospects? I’ve seen him trend as a second rounder on this site and others for 2015 but thinking that may be underselling him..

 

Was unranked out of HS, hit a growth spurt his freshman year and hit the weights over the summer and is up to 6’6” 180 + with a near 7 ft wingspan

 

He’s a sophomore but is young for his grade… for example, he is younger than freshmen like Jabari Bird, Kasey Hill, Anthony Barber and Jarell Martin and was born in the same month as Wayne Selden, Tyler Ennis and Nigel Williams-Goss.

 

Has a electric first step and elite lateral quickness, being able to guard PGs.. Dribbles low to the ground. Both traits allow him to play this kind of herky-jerky style of play that reminds me of Jamal Crawford and Manu Ginobili where he finds gaps and spaces off the dribble that don’t look like they exist

 

He’s Michigan’s best defensive player as this link shows http://www.umhoops.com/2014/01/31/defensive-score-sheet-purdue-michigan/   If anyone saw the Purdue game, he had a few chase down and straight up blocks, a few steals out of the zone and ended up with 2 blks and 3 steals. He’s also our best rebounder outside of our bigmen. 

 

Excellent catch and shoot guy from the 3 point range at 38% and developing a midrange game with pull-up and floaters… Elite at breaking down his man without a ball screen and finishing at the rim.

 

Seems to step up against top notch competition with good games against Duke, Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan St 

 

He has a ways to go with his decision making as he is good for a few bad turnovers per game but even still he sports a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio and a positive pure point rating at + .58. Really good at grabbing a rebound and running the break and finding the open man but still a ways to go to making the correct decision on PnR. I know guys like MCW and Dante Exum are in style and it seems he could develop combo guard ability.

 

His biggest cons are definitely his slight frame, decision making and shooting off the dribble, especially in the midrange area as this shows http://hoop-math.com/Michigan2014.php

 

A bit perplexed that players like Wayne Selden, the Harrison Twins and Jabari Bird are seen as better prospects…

I personally like him better as a prospect than Glen Robinson III. He really passes the eye test.

I like him over GRIII as well because I see him as a 100% SG, where GRIII projects more at SF. At SG he will be able to get his shot off against most NBA defenders. His mid range game is questionable, but I think would be passable if he was assisted more. His 3 point shot and free throws are excellent.
