balltilifall5ParticipantDerrick Caracter should be an early 2nd round pick..he is averaging 15 and 9 for the upstart UTEP miners. agree?

Dhamp2ParticipantHe’s actually ave 14 and 8….Looked him up last night…Anyway, he’s listed in the 2011 draft as a second round pick. He’s good. UTEP is ranked in the top 25 for the first time I can remember. They have a good point guard whose had scoring games of 45 and 39??? Going only off memory. Anyway, I wonder how well he would be playing with Edgar Sosa right now. They could have used him.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantWhy would he leave now, though? The guy has to rebuild his reputation, and a half year for a C-USA school probably isn’t enough time to do so. Fair or unfair, Rick Pitino didn’t pull punches in ripping him. The story drips with hypocrisy that a coach that will close up shop at a restaurant with some random milf will also shred a teenager for staying out past curfew to hang out with his girlfriend. I tend to think NBA people ought to consider the messenger in assessing the kid’s character, but that probably doesn’t happen. These are college coaches after all.
Unless he goes off in the NCAAs, and UTEP steals a game or two in the tourney, I don’t think his stock will be high enough for it to make sense for him to leave. He declared once before, so he cannot test again. It would make much more sense to play another season at UTEP with what will probably be the best non-big six conference team in the country next year if all their juniors stay, and then work his way into a first round lock and maybe even a lottery pick. He is still only 21-years old. There is no need to rush it. He has had to back door his college career, I don’t think he would want to have to get into the NBA the hard way as well.

Dhamp2ParticipantBoy if you ever disrepect me like that again…..And I’m not playing. I didn’t say anything that isn’t true….14.4 is still 14 points. 8.8 reb is still 8 reb….
I’ll tell you again. Don’t ever, and I mean ever, talk crazy like that to me again.

torontoraptors10Participantyeah man respect people on this site. 8.8 big whoop. who cares if it is 8 or 9? its only a 0.2 difference to 9 and 0.8 difference to 8, that kinda difference doesn’t need name calling.

quinceyhodgeslol..internet gangsta…threatening people on here makes zero sense since you dont know who is who and 99percent of the people use fake names. as far as derrick i agree he should stay for another year , not just because of his talent but to continue to rebuild his rep

JNixonParticipantHe should return. He’s had a resurgence of a season, but he’d be risking alot by not returning. More things than he would if he did return. He’s declared before, so he can’t just test the waters this time. Plus, this UTEP team could be an Elite 8 level team next season with all their impact players returning. I would return for my last year if I were him. UTEP, for as good as they are this season, are set up for a season that school hasn’t seen in a very very, long time. Maybe never. They’re are gonna be scary next year. High scoring guard in Randy Culpepper, nice post compliment in Arnett Moultrie, and a physically gifted playmaker in 6’6″ PG Julyan Stone. mhm, mhm, mhm.

droppindimes247ParticipantI doubt that Louisville would have won the national championship last year with him. They got dominated by a Michigan State team that got destroyed by UNC. This is coming from a MSU fan, UNC was in a league of their own last year. However back to the topic I think he will stay another year and his draft stock will continue to increase. If they are able to make a lil run in the tourney this year (get by the first weekend) and have another solid year next year I can see him working his way to a late first round pick.

FastAndFuriousParticipantIsn’t the only person on here who takes this site seriously, the DOUCHES who mark points off for no reason or mark points off with no explanation are just as bad as D-Hamp.

JayK21Yeah thats cuz I read this forum only, hear peoples opinions, and think about it, not just try and prove them wrong when they are more right than you.I don’t get thrill out of trying to think I know everything when I don’t. Constructive critcism if anything by man. Lose the ego, your on a forum. Peace. Along with a bunch more, but you gotta be one of the worst. This wuld be a better place if people were not biased and thought they know everything and try to beliddle one another. Grow up homie. Peace.

JayK21Honestly, I know ten times more about backetball than you, but I know I do, I don’t need to attempt to correct people to make myself feel better. I wouldn’t even waste my time. This is a forum not PTI. HAha u nuts.
