Ahkasi ClayParticipantIf they do, the MVP needs to be Pau Gasol!

cobi15ParticipantHe is the softest dude in the nba! Dont get me wrong he has skills but when he plays against the type pf in the game or physical players he does nothing on the court! SOFTTTTTT!

mikeyvthedonParticipantName me the PF’s that beast on Pau? KG got the better of him in his first year with the Lakers, but since than I do not really remember Pau being really dominated in a series. He averages double digit boards, he hits the offensive glass hard. He may wander the perimeter a bit at times, but his post game is not bad at all. To me, if you rebound at the rate of Pau, it is hard for me to call you soft. Their are a lot of supposed tough guys in the NBA who do not rebound like him, and Pau is soft? That argument is dead.
As far as the Lakers catching the Spurs, if they keep playing as badly without Timmy, it could indeed happen. The Spurs built up a nice head start, but they need to start winning a couple games to solidify homecourt throughout the play-offs. Anything under 60 is not going to get it done, someone needs to step up for them and help them win at least 4-5 more games. Even than, the Lakers have a slight chance as long as they keep stacking W’s and the Spurs L’s.

The lake show2I’m a big Laker fan but its no secret that Gasol is soft alot fo time. Now lets not get it mixed up with skills because he is very skilled and good but there are plenty of times where if someone just hits his hand or hit the ball he flops around like he’s been shot or he doesn’t go as hard to the basket, or cries about something very small that wasn’t even a foul. With that said i wouldnt trade him for any other big man in the NBA right now
As far as the Lakers catching the Spurs i think its likely. They are only 3 1/2 games behind and if they beat Dallas(gonna be tough) that only puts them 2 1/2. And the Spurs got Boston next and i see Boston beating them and that will put them 1 1/2 games behind. then the Spurs have PHX and the Lakers have the Jazz and after those games its possible that the Lakers and Spurs will be tied( i might be wrong by a half a game somewhere). And they still play each other one more time before the season ends. Right now the Lakers have the second best record ( because the Bulls just lost)

mikeyvthedonParticipantKobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are soft? Lol, my point is, EVERY NBA player exaggerates and acts in order to draw contact and fouls. Plus they constantly plead for their case to referrees. That is why the NBA came up with the strict regulations, in hopes that people would stop whining and acting out as much, and I guess it has worked to an extent, yet at other times seems a tad ridiculous. But, Gasol’s acting and soccer drama on contact hardly make him soft, they just make him slightly annoying like most players who do such things (ie. Chris Bosh/Boozer fake contact, though he is hardly the first).
If you see a guy doing it in a pick-up game, odds are you want to hit them for real, but in the NBA this is common place. I do not understand how that would make Pau Gasol stand out that much. Not to mention he still gets boards at a greater rate than most of the PF’s he goes up against. I think you are arguing just for the sake of arguing on this one Quincey, though I have come to expect no less. I do agree though, I could not really think of anyone realistic I would want to trade Pau for at this point. Call him whatever, the guy has gotten it done as Kobe’s second banana as soon as he put on a Laker uniform.

The lake show2no watching Gasol its pretty obvious. Pretty much every Laker fan (including me ) knows this. Its no secret nor is it new news. Even Phil Jackson has said it. We have learned to deal with it because he’s so skilled and plays very well ,ost of the time that it doesn’t really effect his game, plus he has played less soft more often than not

sheltwon3ParticipantI dont want Lakers to get the number one spot unless Memphis gets the 7th spot. I am really looking forward to Memphis playing the Spurs in the first round. Spurs are not really a threat to Lakers if they have home court. They are beat old and vunerable. They normally have their injuries early but this time had them late. I dont see them recovering in time to take on any really good teams that they have trouble matching up with.

The lake show2By this time next week i expect the Lakers to be tied or in sole possesion of the top spot
