akhan786ParticipantI think Harrison can at the next level only if he improves his handle. But his jumpshot is one of the best I’ve seen in college basketball for awhile and I think that he’ll be successful as a SF or SG.
Anthony Davis should play PF and I think Perry Jones will NOT be succesful unless he transitions into a SF by the time he gets to the NBA. Both of them have scary potential.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantSure. Most players are guys that can play 2 positions in the NBA.. Barns isnt a SF/PF in the NBA so he is a SF/SG…

WizardofOzParticipantHe’ll be able to play some SG at the next level, even though I think he’s a little more suited for the SF position, but if the team that drafts him doesn’t have a need a SF, they’ll develop him into a 2.
Ant Davis is a tall kid that can step out and hanlde the ball a bit, but he’ll definitely be a PF at the next level. All his length and shot-blocking ability would be wasted on the perimeter, and his handle isn’t good enough to break perimeter defenders, and I’m not sure how good he is defending the perimeter.
PJIII has more of a case to play SF than Davis, but I see him as a face-up 4. The NBA games is much more suited for him because of the better floor spacing, and he’ll be able to take opposing 4’s off the dribble with ease. His quickness advantage over other big men would be diminished if he played SF. And his handle is good for someone his size, but it’s not that good for a SF. He’s not being to be able to create consistently against perimeter defenders. And he wouldn’t be able to matchup with the quicker 3’s As they always say, you are who you guard.

bdiddy5115ParticipantBarnes could play some SG, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable playing him there for extended stretches, as he would struggle to stay in front of quicker twos. Like its been mentioned, most quality players can play 2 positions, and Barnes is no different. That being said, everything about him screams SF more than anything else.
Davis is a PF through and through. He obviously needs to put on weight, and hone his post skills (although he’ll face-up quite a bit). His interior defense and motor are best suited for the inside.
Jones has a superior handle, body control and overall offensive skill level than Davis, so its understandable why some would want him to move to SF. But I think with all the space he’ll be able to operate with at the next level, he’ll flourish most as a face-up PF.

JNixonParticipantBarnes will be a primary SF who may play SG in certain situations. He does not have the handle or passing skills of a standard SG though.
Anthony Davis is a PF with prototype game and size for the position. He could be a very nice weapon depending on if his skills develop a little more with the ball in his hands.
Perry Jones is a face 4 PF. He doesn’t have the perimeter game of a standard SF, but he has the athleticism of one and the size of a modern day mismatch PF.

JoeJoParticipantI doubt it. I can’t see a coach putting a 6’8 guy with a suspect handle and average quickness for a SF at 2-guard. There’s hardly any difference between the 2 and the 3 positions anymore; they’re just swing positions but he’d need to be paired with a 3 who can handle the rock well. Otherwise, ballhandling and distributing duties will be too largely dependent on the PG.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIt’ll depend on the team that drafts him..If he goes to a team like Minnesota becuz they already have Beasley & Derrick Williams at sf..And Detroit,i think they’ll also put him at shooting guard if Tayshaun Prince is still there…
People forget that Rudy Gay who is 6’9, started his rookie year at shooting guard…His ball handling and shooting skills are good, but not great…And Caron Butler who is 6’8 has started at sg…

franfranParticipantin the NBA will be tested in both positions but I think it may be more lethal playing small forward.
He is not slow, he always seems to be thinking about the next play, is a strategist, he is very quiet, waiting for the right time to be effective. He must play more than 30 minutes per game from now, so show its true potential0 - AuthorPosts
