don042488ParticipantThis kid Gerald Green has so much potential, it’s sad to see him keep getting bounced around from team to team…His last season with the Celtics he was on the verge of stardom, then once he got traded he never got his swagger back…If this kid could get consistent minutes on a team, I think he could still develop into an All-Star…Coming out of high school, people comapred him to T-Mac because their both 6’8, got a nice handle, athletic, has a knack for scoring, and he does that same juke move before he pulls up for his jumper, just like Mcgrady…I still feel he can develop into the second coming of Tracy, but he just got to land on a team, where he has the opportunity to start and get a lot of minutes…I say the best team for him to go on, is the Milwaukee Bucks…They need a high scoring athletic small forward to compliment, Michael Redd, and Gerald Green definitely fits the bill…A starting lineup of Andrew Bogut, Hakim Warrick, Gerald Green, Michael Redd, and Luke Ridnour or Brandon Jennings, would make a pretty exciting run & gun team to watch next season

FutureoftheGameThe Bucks already have that. Ever hear of Joe Alexander. He has proved just as much as Green and he is alot stronger and has more range. And, Gerald Green only has 9 fingers. That has hindered his growth and his ball handeling ability and somewhat his shot. Green could be pretty damn good paying for the Knicks once they dump like half of thier guards. Maybe he could be good for the Suns or the Warriors.

Celtics341A perfect team for Gerald Green is the Suns. He needs to be allowed to make mistakes. In Boston, he got PT and then the Celtics felt he was never going to get it and traded him. Also, The Knicks should look at him for another wing player who can run.

Toronto16ParticipantLol first off Joe Alexander is a bust in the making so the Bucks have an opening at small forward. But I agree with don, he is still young and still has a shot to be pretty decent, maybe not the allstar level player once perdicted he would be. He needs to mature though, if you watched him last season with Dallas or the season he was with the Wolves, he never paid much attention to his coaches, would goof off during timeouts instead of listening like any young player should do, then would come into the game and make a bunch of mistakes that would put him right back on the bench.

Celtics341I think he may have to go somewhere (Europe, NBDL) because once you get that “Lazy” Tag, it’s tough to get off.
I like Gerald Green but I heard all that lazy stuff man, he needs to just go into the 2009 season focused.

FutureoftheGameI saw that guy with one had. He is like 6’11. Green is not. In an interview, Green said it himself that the finger keeps him from being able to shoot and dribble sometimes. And, Joe is not a bust yet. I will admit it when he falls on his face but he hasnt had the PT yet to prove anything. Just wait untill next year, then I will be more inclined to call him a bust if he still isnt producting. He has all the tools to be just like Shawn Marion except his shot is better. Have you ever even watched Joe play?

FutureoftheGameRegarding the Raptors comments. What about Jermain Oneal? Or Jason Kapono? Or Marcus Banks? And those are just recent players

deuce4offWhat Gerald Green were you watching Don? The kid was on the verge of stardom his last year with the Celtics??? Are you serious?? He’s done absolutely nothing in the League and has been closer to flipping burgers rather than stardom. Athleticism is the only thing the kid has going for him, as it has been evident that his skills haven’t and won’t develop. He also has a frail body type, he doesn’t play D, he’s extremely lazy, and his maturity level is non-existent. This kid will never make it in the League.

JNixonParticipantHe was a relatively good player in his 2nd year with the Celtics. He could be a great scorer, but his defense keeps him off the floor. He should just work hand and cherish every minute he’s on the floor, instead of ball-hogging and not defending. Also all of his coaches have said he has a hard time learning plays, so he might be a little dumb. He has a low Bball IQ so I dont question that for one second. I think he should get a chance though, he has a lot of talent.

D HampParticipantDuece4off You’re correct. If Gerald was so talented, then why are teams so willing to trade him or let him walk. All he has is athletsicm. He’s been in the league for a while now and he hasn’t performed. Me and my friend argued over him, because my friend thought was a top 3 player on the Dallas Mavericks two seasons ago. What the heck???

Pierre JordanParticipantGerald Green can shoot… and Gerald Green can dunk… that’s it.

D HampParticipantThe more I think of it, Gearld Green shouldn’ve went to Oklahoma State University, like he originally planned.

JNixonParticipantOh definitely, he’s a classic case of a player that shouldve went to college 1st. David Stern did the right thing by making the “you must be 19, and out of HS for a year before you play in the NBA” rule.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipanti still think gerald green can be a good scorer in this league or a good matt barnes type of player, but i think he needs to go to a team like new orleans now, they need another shooting guard to compete with peterson and marcus thornton and they really need a scorer off the bench, but at new orleans you know he won’t play unless he commits to defense, i mean look at brandon bass, stuck in new orleans for 2 years on the bench because he supposedly couldn’t play defense and rebound, what did he do at dallas play defense and rebound, gerald green could benefit from the same thing

llperezis weak. He does not play tough. Fading away on all your shots and avoiding contact at both ends of the court is not gonna get it done. People who still praise his potential must be watching his highschool tapes instead of his NBA tapes.
