Lebron James had a triple-double. Considering his game as a whole, not only the last quarter when he disappeared, how do you rate his game?

I consider he had a below average game for his standards, but not a bad game. Miami’s defense was not as good as it has been this playoffs and Dallas was shooting lights out from 3. To me those are the 2 main reasons Miami lost the game, not James’ play.

Its a bad game because he didn’t produce when they needed him. I would say that about any star player. He has to step up, not about scoring, but make plays. He hasn’t

He is right. It does not matter if he had a triple double if he did nothing in the 4th.

People are questioning why Lebron in this series hasn’t been able to come up big when they need him most at the end of games, obviously a triple double isn’t easy to come by, but they have needed Lebron to perform well in these fourth quarters in the Finals, and he has yet to do so.

cant be considered a BAD game, I dont care what he didnt do in the 4th.  his enablity to show up has nothing to do with the intangibles he brings.  if you want to say he is not great, he is not a big time player, or he is not the best, fine, but when you start saying triple doubles are bad games…then you need to bump Oscar Robertson down on the all-time list…how many titles did he win?  Jason Kidd despite his triple doubles is not an all time great if you start talking that nonsense.   Rondo got most of his triple doubles in the Celts non-title seasons.  If you are going to discredit triple doubles then none of them mean jack.  Why the double standard?  Thats like a fighter winning 11 rounds and getting ktfo in the 12th….everyone will say he was fighting a great fight up until the point of the KO.  The 12th round and the fact that the fighter got ktfo cant take away the fact that he was having a good fight for the 1st 11 rounds….he just didnt finish and thats what Lebron is not doing…finishing.   Sometime fighters fade and thats what Lebron is doing, he is fading late, for that, he deserves all the criticism you can heap on him.  If he finishes with 8 pts and a couple of rebounds and assists but he hits the game winner in the 4th…he’s gonna get flack for that.   Just like the fighter that is getting outboxed for 11 rounds and comes up with a sunday punch.

and to clarify…ultimately it does not matter what he did in the first 3 quarters if his team lost and he faded. I am sure he would trade in the triple double for a win, my point is dont go saying triple doubles are bad games, if so then everybody had a bad game on the Heat side. he had a bad 4th quarter scoring wise, lets be clear.

Can we please give some credit to Shawn Marion?  I hate LeBron but its not like he isn’t facing some good defense. This series is just showing that he really is not a pure scorer. Plain and simple.

If Lebron was ever going to step up in the 4th it would have been today, with Wade carrying an injury. But he didn’t, so even with the triple-double it was a bad game for him. One thing I’ve noticed with Lebron is there isn’t really a middle ground with him; he’s either dominating the ball and in attack mode, or he’s very passive. Unless he can find a way to be in attack mode all the time without needing the dominate the ball then the Miami Heat will never reach their potential, because as it stands, Lebron is too up and down.

You can’t help but wonder whether Lebron will opt out after three years if this trend of Wade doing the heavy lifting continues.

lebron got triple double which shows his effort in the game, he is trying to help his team.  Why can’t we give credit to the defensive effort that mavs give to him

Sometimes I think alot of people forget this fact…

The Heat’s whole squad was primarily built in one season…and we expect them to go in this year, tear ish up, and just walk out with a title.  The Mavs have been together for quite sometime and it shows.  They are playing great team ball, have hungry veteran leaders in Dirk, Kidd, Terry, etc, and are one of the most mentally tough teams I’ve seen in a while.  If any team was going to have a prime shot at taking down the Heat, the Mavs very well may have been their kryptonite.

Dirk is unguardable and they have the inside/outside components to get numbers in various ways.

Key assists in the 4th.  when he catches it at 27-28 feet, thats a lot of room for him to get to the bucket, which in that case, the defense is set and ready to help.  You have to think, he is bringing the ball up in the 4th, and initiates the offense, if he isnt getting the assist on the bucket, by time he gets it back way beyond the three line, they expect him to do something with the shot clock winding down.  I think its more of the offense and play calling than it is Lebron.
