NJHooper95ParticipantThis is the kid that made going to Memphis cool according to coach Cal. He is the recruit that rejuvenated Calipari’s recruiting brilliance. He was the original one and done under coach Cal. He is none other the Dajuan Wagner. Im sorry guys but i had to post this. I have followed all the great high school players for the last 17years, and I have seen this kid play in person several times and in my own somewhat bias opinion, he maybe the greatest scholastic scorer in the last 25 years.
I first heard of D Wag when he was in middle school and averaging 60ppg as an 8th grader. Im thinking this kid is probably just really tall. Then when i saw him play in high school, i said wow, this guy is for real. He is New Jersey’s all-time leader scorer. He broke a record that stood for 40 years. And if you guys know your high school basketball, you will know that New Jersey features three of the best high school programs nationally in St. Patricks, St. Anthony’s and St. Benedicts. Yet, D Wag did not play for any of them, he challenged them and beat them. Im not talking college or nba, but High School, you will be hard pressed to find not a better player, but a better scorer than Dajuan Wagner. Jersey please stand up.

Maniac MaciejParticipantDajuan Wagner’s lasting contribution to the NBA will be that he helped Cleveland suck enough to land LeBron in 2003…the rest is history.
He’s also the only player in NBA history to have his career partially ended by ulcerative colitis.
If I was New Jersey, I wouldn’t take too much credit for him.

NJHooper95ParticipantWell im going to give credit to him. No one can control a health disorder. Could happen to anyone. You need to watch Lebron draft interview, because one of the first things he said was, that he could not wait to play with a great player like Dajuan Wagner!!

Maniac MaciejParticipantLeBron also said he was "taking his talents to South Beach." He says some stupid things.
On an interesting side note, Wagner had his colon removed in 2005. I didn’t know that was even possible. Any idea what he’s up to these days?

ilike.panochasParticipantDajuan Wagner, at worst could have been a player like Ben Gordon, had he never had health problems. He would have been a good player, 13PPG in his rookie year were just a glimpse of what he could have been.

NJHooper95ParticipantLast i heard he was working out in Jersey. The word is, he is planning one last attempt at getting back into the NBA.

HitsterParticipantGreat shame that this guy could not have had a decent shot at the NBA due to health issues, if he had stayed sound then maybe Cleveland would have got over the line in one of their play off runs.

bloodshyParticipantI enjoyed watching the clip. I barely recall hearing of this kid. It’s a shame his career got derailed by illness. Amazing talent.
