As much as 90% of NCAA basketball followers didn’t think too highly of Calipari’s freshmen class this past season, despite the early struggles to gel together, they somehow rallied and turned it around toward the end of SEC play. With expected transfer/NBA Draft departures from Sacha Killeya-Jones, Tai Wynyard, Kevin Knox II, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Hamidou Diallo, and P.J. Washington, who is expected to return, Kentucky has found a way to slide back into the mix with unexpected key additions in 5-star recruits, E.J. Montgomery and Ashton Hagans.

    2018-2019 Projected Depth Chart

    C – Nick Richards, P.J. Washington Jr.

    F – E.J. Montgomery, Gabriel Wenyen

F – Jarred Vanderbilt, Keldon Johnson

G – Tyler Herro, Jemarl Baker

G – Quade Green, Immanuel Quickley, Ashton Hagans*

The upcoming season looks to have a bright spot.

Is next season the year we get the Duke-Kentucky dream final?

It’s early but I think I am gonna go with a Full Blue Bloods Final Four.

It is actually bad. How is he gonna coach this team!? He’s gonna lose Quade, who I told personally to not go to UK. That’s my youngbul. But he isn’t an NBA guard and he will transfer if Ash reclassifies. Immanuel is a beast but he should feel some type of way. Herro is really good, but he may be the odd man out because Cal is weird. EJ should have went to UNC. Kentucky reloading every year is bad because it’s forcing kids out.

If you told Quade that. I never thought that was a good fit for him. Cal gave Shai his PG spot this, will give Immanuel the PG spot next year, and Ash (or some other recruit who blows up in the next 18 months) the PG spot the year after that. He will always been the odd man out.

He needs to go somewhere and be the man. He belongs in a power conference, but would be better somewhere that isn’t a blue blood. Go be the leader at a middle to high team in the ACC or SEC or something.

I want Quade to stay but I actually agree. Somewhere like LSU or Indiana would better suit him, especially if Hagans reclassifies

I’m curious to know how people felt when Kentucky had that 2015 class coming in with the Harrisons, Cauley-Stein, and Poythress staying. The platoon system worked then, why can’t it work again? These Freshmen are all super competitive but also super tight, and I think they value winning over everything. Plus we’ve seen bench guys go one and done at UK before so I don’t think any of them should be worried if they end up not starting
