I really think that PJ Hairston will be a good player for my Knicks to draft in the first round. But the only way that can happen is if we buy into the first round. Should the Knicks try to buy a frist round draft pick and take Hairston(if he is still on the board)?

I do understand that this pick if they can buy one will be somewhere between 20-30…

they arleady havd Smith, Hardaway, and Shumpert at SG. They need a PG and Frontcourt Depth more than anything, and if Anthony leaves than a SF too.

If the Knicks want to trade into the first round for Hariston, I think they should revisit Shump to OKC trade that was being discussed at the trade deadline before Shump got hurt.

I think Shump is a good fit in OKC, he could start at the 2 and play the Sefolosha role or come off the bench if they decided to start Jackson and he could the 6th man and play both guard positions. Not sure why the Knicks want Hariston after taking Hardaway last year who had a promising rookie year, I would think getting some youth in that front court would be a priority for the Knicks.

ESPN Insider posted a story about the Knicks sending Shumpert or 3 million cash to the Thunder for the 21st pick. It also mentions that if the trade happens, the Knicks will be players to sign Sefolosha in FA.

If Jerami Grant falls into the very end of the 1st round, I think the Lakers should try to buy a pick.  Let’s face it, they need help in a lot of areas and simply need players at this point (especially that are super athletic). Grant has an enormous amount of potential and could be the steal of the draft if he falls into the 20-30 range.

The Clippers could use Shump.  They are sitting at 28.  If PJ Hairston is there I think that swap would work.  Shump would give the high scoring Clippers and energy/defender guy at guard.  They have CP3, JJ Reddick, and Jamal Crawford already for scoring, and Darren Collison if he resigns.

Shump looks like a guy they can use on Russell Westbrook, Steph Curry, Tony Parker, or any of those other killer guards out west.

San Antonio Spurs might look into that too at 30.  They have shooters, but could use some younger, athletic types.  He can also play some point which would help.  He’s not a shooter, but the Spurs have helped guys with their shot.  He could give them a good defensive wing pairing with Kawhi Leonard.

Or, Miami at 26.  Shump could be a future D Wade replacement.  Wade is dropping off big time.  Shump could fill in for him.  Put Shump at point and D Wade at the 2 with a shooter at forward along with LeBron.  Shump could also play some point off the bench with Ray Allen.  The Heat are in "win now mode" and actually need more athletes.  Shump could help them more than PJ Hairston.

Huh, I actually think the Thunder need a tough minded scorer like PJ Hairston to go at the 2.  Start PJ, let him learn then they have a good 2 guard pairing with Jeremy Lamb.  Russell and Reggie hold down the point guard spots, with Shump not really bringing anything to the table that Russell and Reggie don’t bring.  PJ might not be their pick at 21, but at 29 he would be a GREAT fit.  Westbrook, Hairston, Durant, Ibaka, and Adams should be a really good starting five.
