With Free-Agency about to begin, who are good buy-low options via signing or trade? I’m thinking about young players, probably 2010 draft class and up, who struggled during their first few years but you still believe in? I went with 2010 since this class rookie deals are up and are RFA/UFA this Summer.

Two that comes to mind are Austin Rivers and Evan Turner(UFA).

Jordan Hamilton – I still think he will be a good player. I really want him to my Pistons.

Emeka Okafor might be worth rolling the dice on if you can get him cheap (which you should be able to)

Josh McRoberts could provide some help coming off the bench for a contender ( SA, Miami or OKC)

Ben Gordon and Jimmer if you can get them cheap

Mario Chalmers stock is low after the nba finals – he would be a decent backup (maybe indiana or GS)

If a good team can get Pau for a decent price for 2 or 3 years he could be a steal coming off a bad year in LA.

Ekpe Udoh- Could provide help defence, on ball defence, and reboundong for a very cheap price. Dont expect any offence feom him. I half expected Masai Ujiri to target him knowing how much he loves networking with other Africans or African born to help build a foundation to help kids in Africa longterm. Also Toronto could potentially use someone with his skills and instincts on one side of the floor. I like Nogueira more though.

Ed Davis- Showed alot of potential with Toronto. After playing behind Z-Bo and Gasol he could see his game flourish. Expect a short contract with a player option to a bad team where he can shine.

Norris Cole- Never got a chance to prove himself on the Heats roster. Alot of people had high expectations for him when he entered the draft. Could be a steal if he leaves Miami and goes to the right sqaud especially after playing, practicing, and training with three all time greats.

Thats all Ive got without checking the FA list or repeating any mentioned above.

I agree on the other two, but Ekpe Udoh is flat out not good. He’s a nice defender, but he’s a poor rebounder and is absolutely brutal on the offensive end.

Ed Davis to Minnesota? Could be a really good backup or start full time if a trade for Love happens. Otherwise he would be a great fit in Chicago if they could sign him.

It feels like there are a lot of back up pg types running around, so not all of them are going to get paid. Augustin, Blake, Chalmers, Devin Harris, Hinrich, Livingston, Patty Mills, Ramon Sessions, Udrih. I think Sessions has been running under the radar for awhile and was surprised to see he is still only 28.

Aaron Brooks is underrated in my opinion. I was also impressed with Jermaine O’Neal this year. They are both free agents I believe.

He has his limits as a player, but I like what he brings to the table defensively and as a rebounder at the right price.

Here are a few that have not been mentioned yet:

Kris Humphries:  steady bigman who can rebound and has good shooting percentages.  Would be a great backup for a contender (not a rebuilding team like the Celtics).  I think he could be had cheap.  Heat?  Bulls?  Lakers?  Clippers?

Danny Granger:  With his injuries, joining a new team, and not playing much, he will be a buy low candidate.  He’s certainly not going to revert back to 2010 Granger, but a team looking for a first forward off the bench kind of guy that provides experience, length and shooting, he could be a good value.  Nets?  Lakers?  Spurs?

Michael Beasley:  Definitely gets crapped on for not living up to #2 overall potential, but people need to forget that when thinking of signing him.  He’s not going to play defense, but he can be a fantastic scorer off the bench (or as a starter for the right team) once he gets into a rhythm and actually gets steady playing time.  Being on a contender like the Heat is not a good spot for him.  If he went to a rebuilding team like the Sixers, Magic, Bucks, Pistons, Kings, or Jazz, he could play a good role of getting buckets.  I don’t think we’ve seen his ceiling yet.

I’d like to take a flier on Jimmer Fredette or Troy Daniels just to see what happens.  Their sample sizes are obviously smaller than Curry, but their Synergy Stats on the offensive end are very similar to Steph Curry’s.  Obviously neither of them are nearly the ball-handler or passer that Curry is, but I think it would be interesting to give them a contract and just see what happens when they get some decent playing time.  For a rebuilding team, it can’t really hurt to give guys like them a chance.

Good lord. I guess that’s what happens when you’re as desperate for shooting as Detroit.

Rodney Stuckey will be a solid pickup for a team who has an already made backcourt.
