4hff4f427ParticipantOkay folks, I know how often trade ideas get posted on this site, and from what I’ve seen, they usually get a lot of "WTF!?" reactions and don’t seem believable to many. Well, this is a simple deal I came up with and, according to a couple of trade rumor sites I posted this on, this got a lot of positive feedback(I wouldnt put a trade idea on here otherwise). Anyways, here’s the deal, take it for what it’s worth:
DETROIT RECIEVES: Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer, and the #28 pick
CHICAGO RECIEVES: Richard Hamilton and Terrico White
What do you all think??

llperezif im chicago i like it. They need to win now and rip hamilton brings exactly what they need without costing them a starter. No idea if terrico white is an nba player but he probably has as much chance making an impact as whoever they get at 28.
for detroit, not so sure. Obviously they want to trade rip and get younger but i dont see korver and brewer as being any kind of team boosting upgrade. They just seem to be spining their wheels on this trade and i would probably wait to see if i could get a little more for rip. not saying its bad for detroit, just dont know if its worth their time.

Awesome-O-420ParticipantToo bad there isn’t a scientist who can combine Ronnie Brewer with Kyle Korver because they’re polar opposites of each other. Both are SG’s, Brewer is a good slasher/finisher/defender/rebounder while Korver is a great shooter who is poor at doing what Brewer does and vice versa. Brewer will never be a good shooter because of his childhood accident with his shooting hand – and Korver isn’t getting younger so will probably never be anything more than a shooter. No team trying to get to the finals should trade for those two.
The Jazz learned very quickly it is very difficult to play those two. They struggled to get both of them on the court at the same time, and both seemed frustrated to be inserted and taken out situationally so much. Detroit needs something other than two guys to play situational minutes.
If I’m Chicago I wanna dump both players, and if I’m Detroit I wanna dump Rip, not sure each team wants to be each others junk yard.

4hff4f427Participant@Awesome-O-420 Your on the right track basically. Heres the way I see it: Detroit wants to make Ben Gordon their starting 2-gaurd. On the other hand, Chicago could use and upgrade at their starting 2-gaurd position. That was basically the reason I came up with this idea. Sounds pretty reasonable to me(as well as, evidently, lots of others as I stated before).

natedogggParticipantits not a bad proposal. i spose the sticking point for the bulls would be the 2 years and 20 mil theyd have to pay rip

4hff4f427ParticipantRip’s second year is only partially gaurunteed(only $9 million of the $12 million is gaurunteed). So essentially, Chicago would be saving about $10 million over the next three years with this deal.

PulseGlazerParticipantAs much as I like Rip, I’m not sure he fits Chicago. He isn’t great from afar, really, despite popular opinion, and is more of a mid-range gunner off screens. That’s got it’s uses, but how does it really spread the floor for Rose if he can’t shoot from deep or create his own shot?

SmooveKRYPTParticipantI don’t see them giving up Brew and Korver after 1 season when they were 2 very important FA signings for them last year. Thibodeau loves Brewer’s defensive ability, and I see him sticking around much longer there. Korver is the only guy on that team who is reliable 3pt shooter…getting rid of him would only allow teams to further clog the paint to stop Rose. I like the idea of them going to get Rip, but these guys are important to what Chicago does. Signing Carter or Michael Redd makes much more sense to me.
