Personally i think the bulls would be amazing team if they picked up jr smith from the f/a list this year.  He is a guy that spread the floor and create his own.  Be a perfect side kick to rose.

The answer lies in Afflalo. Great wing defender with nice shooting perecentages (49%FG, 42%3PT, 84%FT).

Yea this is pretty obvious, but JR isn’t the answer. He wouldn’t fit with the bulls, he jacks up 3’s like crazy, gets too out of control and doesn’t care much for defense, which is the bulls main focus. I don’t think thibs would want him either.

Mayo would be great since he’s seemingly on the block as it is and you have to think he’s gonna get better

Call me crazy, but I can seriously see the Bulls picking up one of these three SGs next year:

Eric Gordon: If you’re not just a casual fan of basketball, then you are familiar with D.Rose and Gordon playing on the same AAU squads back in their amateur days. Gordon would be a nice compliment to Rose. A strong slasher who can shoot it with the best of them when healthy. Rose will no longer have to bear the weight of being the only player who can create athletically on the court.

O.J. Mayo: Mayo is a guy who I feel still has that ability which bought him the hype of the next basketball prodigy. Rose and Mayo are familiar with each other from the AAU circuit also. Not that Memphis is a bad situation, but I think his confidence has taken a slight hit and he could do more, especially with a new squad and working on his all-around game this summer. Mayo played some big minutes during this year’s play-offs and now has some experience under his belt. His jumper is smooth, can slash to the bucket, and shows some will on defense. Also let’s be honest, with no disrespect to Bogans or Korver, he is a DEFINITE upgrade.

J.R. Smith: This guy is an enigma to me, BUT I cannot deny his all-around talent. Maybe playing alongside D.Rose can give him a resurgence in his belief as being a leader and working hard on your game. Thibodeau (spell check) would also be a good coach to have for J.R. He is a dead eye shooter when hot, and can also use his size and athleticism to get to the rack. Being a starter would also be interesting with J.R.

Afflalo would be the best choice, hes the better defender amongst the names mentioned here so far, and can spot up for 3 Pointer. I think teaming up Afflalo with Deng would give the Bulls 2 good defensive player at the SG and SF (to somehow counter Wade and James duo) and they could also score as added bonus.

They should get Afflalo and draft a sg so that he can learn from a player like Afflalo

I think the Bulls should draft Scotty Hopson because he is loaded with potential. Tibbs can help him become a better player. He is a pretty good shooter, he is athletic a enough to become a great defener, and he is 6’7 with a 6’11 wingspan a great size for a sg.

    Best case: Rudy Gay

    Worst case: Nick Young

I also heard Afflalo as a possibility.  While he isn’t a big time scorer, he can knock down open three’s and can create his own offense off the dribble.  He is also a tough defender, something Thibadeou seeks in his players.  Personally I think he’s a great fit but I have my hopes set higher.

I hope they draft a SG as well, notably Marshon Brooks.  They may have to trade their two 1sts to move up in the teens to get Brooks, but it would be well worth it.

I get -7 for saying the bulls should look into jr and some kid says jr would be a good fit and get +3.  Makes no sense

dude, oj mayo, this year, per 36 minutes is averageing just a shade below average of what he usually does (roughly 1pt). probably from inconcistant playing time… he would be a greatand play probably better on the bulls than he did memphis…

I may b wrong but I think Jamal Crawford is a free agent this yr.  I think he would b a good option for the bulls.  Not as a starter but that sg that can score and create own shot

Unfortunately I don’t think the Bulls could afford Jamal Crawford. Plus he’s not really their best option considering he’s more of an offensive spark… they could use a defending guard like Afflalo.

I think they need a SG that can; spread the floor with his shooting, create his own offense and get into the lane(so that Rose does not have to on Every Single Play), and one that will play defense and buy into Thibs system.

Affalo – is a great defender and can hit 3’s but is not the best at breaking down the defense.  He would defintely work well in Chi town and the defense of Deng and Affalo could definitely atleast contain Lebron and Wade.  But I think the bulls need penetration from their SG

J.R. Smith – is my favorite pick, good size, he can shoot, he has the moves to create his own shot, he is a guy that is hungry for a more important role on his team, and he is a free agent.   The only question in my head is does he have any idea how to play defense?  Hopefully Thibs can get in his ear and teach him a few things.    "You gotta move J.R.  you have to get those hands up and move those feet" (in the Thibodeau voice)

O.J. Mayo – is a cross between the two.  He has more moves than Affalo and is a more willing defender than J.R. but I think his confidence has been hit hard also probably behind J.R. and Affalo in 3 point shooting.

Gay would be GREAT but it is not going to happen,

Same thing goes for Joe Johnson

Eric Gordon would be fine on the offensive end but is a bit under sized for the defensive side.

    Same goes for Jordan Crawford.

it would be nice for Jamal Crawford to come back to the Bulls but he is in the right situation for his type of game.    If he could commit to defense and not be so greedy he would be a great option.    but coming off the bench and being told "I dont care what you do, just score" is how he is treated in Atlanta and it is the best option for him.

If they could get their hands on Marcus Thorton he might be a good idea for cheap.

Even though Kobe is aging he would be a great addition to the Bulls    He can still score, he still demands a double team, he is a good SG defender.     I am just not sure how many years he has at this level 3years maybe 4 at the most.
