CodySLCParticipantNot only is it gonna be a great pg match up between D Rose and D Will. But Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, and Kyle Korver All make their return back to Utah. Should be pretty intresting.

CodySLCParticipantI’m kinda glad Boozer left. He wanted to much money and a 5 years deal when he’s 29 and injury prone no thanks. Paul Millsap is a beast, and make less than half as much as Boozer. And a big thank you to the Bulls for being nice guys and giving us that trade exception that made it possible to get Al Jefferson.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantI’m pumped…totally agree with rSharpe about what the crowd’s reactions will be. Boozer is a jerk, Ronnie was a great team player and DWill’s best buddy, and Korver deserved the deal he got from Chi that the Jazz couldn’t afford. Unfortunate losses, those last two.
I think it’s going to be a great game. I think Rose is going to try to attack DWill too hard maybe and tire himself out like in a boxing match; DWill always plays a more measured, controlled game, and at home he also has that advantage. Boozer and Millsap will be awesome to watch: mentor v. menti, if you will, even though I wouldn’t want Boozer as my mentor. Jazz also have a good matchup for Deng with Kirlenko. It’s going to be a very good game.
I see this as a pivotal game for the Jazz. If they win they could move closer to the Thunder and try to distance themselves from the Nuggets (if they don’t get at least the 6 seed they’re screwed) but if they lose they fall dangerously close to Portland, whose now just 2.5 games behind Utah. This really marks the first game of the last third of the season and I’m interested to see how they come out.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI expect see hugs and loving emotions out of dwill for all 3 of them esecially for Brewer and Korver. The crowd will be really loud, probably the loudest I’ve ever heard it. Jazz better not play like the Cavs did when Lebron returned to Cleveland. I’ve had this date circled on the schedule ever since it came out, can’t wait. It’s too bad all of those Korver 3’s are not for Utah anymore. GO Jazz.

Should be a good game.

Moon RiverParticipantI heard a local report in Chicago that Utah’s home crowd is one of the most raucous and foul mouthed places you will find for opposing teams. It is going to be even more so tonight with Boozer coming back. I cannot believe this Morman laiden patch of earth would create such hositility, but that was the report. Can anyone confirm?

CodySLCParticipantWell im from Salt Lake, and we do have some of the best and loudest fans in the league. Expect the crowd to be pretty hostile towards Boozer. And fyi there are alot but not everyone in Utah especally Salt Lake City is a Mormon.

CodySLCParticipantI think your wrong. Korver and Brewer are fans favorites. People hate Boozer because he bad mouthed the city, and didnt have any toughness and missed games all the time. Fisher on the other had, Larry Miller was nice enought to void his contract so his daughter could get the care she needed. He didnt have to do that. Then he goes and signs with our biggest rival. Ya of course hes gonna get booed it has nothing to do with his daughter. So try and get your facts right before you assume.

CodySLCParticipantIts not like he needed to sign with the team were he lives. Their were other hopitals she could have gone to. He could have spend that time with his daughter if she was so bad off instead of resigning right away. He could have showed some loyalty to the team who showed him conpassion when is daughter got sick.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI wouldn’t say the Lakers are the Jazz’s biggest rivals. You gotta beat them a couple of times to call them rivals. And the Jazz haven’t beat them a couple of times if at all. The Lakers are more like Jazz’s bully. They just beat on them whenever they meet in the playoffs.

butidonthavemoneyI love how nobody understands the real story, but would trash Jazz fans anyway.
Jazz fans HATED Fisher even when he was on the team. He had one good game for us, but sometimes he was getting booed while he was on the team. He played shooting guard for us most of the time (not really his fault), but that made him a defensive liability. He also shot something like 37% from the field and had an awful shot selection.
THEN
He left us for our rivals. He could have gone elsewhere. There are great hospitals in New York and Chicago where his daughter could have got healthy. He chose to go to our rivals, the Lakers.
I’ve never had a problem with him. I was happy to see Fisher leave, because it freed up time for CJ Miles and Ronnie Brewer. However, he deserves to be booed and it has nothing to do with his daughter. Kobe, all the TV announcers, and most of the posters here would rather trash Jazz then get the facts straight.
Also, Boozer was getting booed while he was still with the team. He missed a ton of games, played lackluster defense and was talking about where he wanted to go before his contract was up. He’ll get booed, hard.
Brewer and Korver were both fan favorites. They would have happily stayed with the Jazz if we weren’t so cheap. Brewer was actually really excited in the offseason about the possibility of re-signing with the Jazz. Instead we opted to sign Raja.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Jazz are the most overrated franchise and Jerry Sloan is not even a great coach.
In the 90’s they had arguably the best point guard of all time and arguably the best power forward of all time and you’re telling me they reached the finals just twice? They pick and rolled themselves to the playoffs year after year with a great point guard and a buff power forward in the 90s but they couldn’t do anything else once they got there. And after 10 years of failure, what does he do? Get another good point guard in DWill and another buff power forward in Boozer and do the same thing again.
The Jazz are the most overrated franchise in the league. Yeah, their fans are great.. but what do they cheer for? Playoff failure? Hey, Jerry Sloan, if the pick and roll and flex offense doesn’t work for 20 years, do something new.

Utah Jazz fans are just cold blooded straigt through the bone. I see no reason to hate a man on this page, I dont really think he "went" to the Lakes because they are your rivals but more likely because they are so frickin good, he likes to win rings, everyone likes to win rings, he won rings there before, and he would end up winning rings there again!
Also players play alot betetr when they are comfortable with their settings, I remember Fisher was scared to make layups when he was on Utah. Cold blooded. Btw Boozer isnt responsible for the 50 win seasons but he played his part and you guys should be thankful Jefferson came along as not to leave a gap in Sloans system.

butidonthavemoney"Utah Jazz fans are just cold blooded straigt through the bone.
Btw Boozer isnt responsible for the 50 win seasons but he played his part and you guys should be thankful Jefferson came along as not to leave a gap in Sloans system."
First off, I honestly think we’d be a better team without Jefferson.
You’re right, he went to the Lakers to win, not to intentionally anger Jazz fans. Does that matter? No. He went to the bad guys, that makes him a bad guy.
I’ve never been one to boo anybody, but Jazz fans are absolutely cold-blooded. They’ve booed their own team several times this season already. They’ve still one of the best home-court advantages in the NBA, despite the inconsistencies this season.

butidonthavemoney"I love the notion the Lakers and Jazz are rivals. The Jazz have never beaten the Lakers anywhere. The Lakers have like 17 titles, the Jazz have 0. Theres no rivalry, get a grip.
ANd yes, Rose will torch Williams."
They’ve been abusing us the last three or four years. Not before Fisher left us. Stockton and Malone constantly took the Lakers to school.
They may not be rivals now, but everything else in this post is pointless or not true entirely. And the Jazz beat the Lakers earlier this season. I don’t know if that counts for anything, but Jefferson matched up with Gasol well.

butidonthavemoneyYou know what he meant by rivals.
Jazz fans hate the Lakers. "Rivals" was a poor word choice, but you know what we meant.
And Utah was a better team than the Lakers before the Gasol trade (which was after Fisher left us), so this is all moot.
