They have two picks the 16th and 26th. Im thinking that they go with BJ Mullens at 16 and have him learn behind Brad Miller for a year. With the 26 they should choose Nick Calathes out of Florida. He is a tall combo guard and should replace Ben Gordon very well if the Bulls decide to let him walk. He would probably come off of the bench behind Kirk Hinrich.

    What do you guys think?

THEY HAVE TO GO AFTER A BIG MAN SO I GOT THEM TAKING BJ MULLENS AT 16 AND SINCE I THINK THEY WILL LET GO OF BEN GORDAN THEY COULD MOVE SALMONS TO SG AND THEN PICK TERRANCE WILLIAMS AT 26

16th pick– Either James Johnson move Salmons to Sg or Tyreke Evans keep salmons at SF
26th pick– Blair Lawai or Taj Gibson.
Also would be interesting if they could package 2 picks and Hinrich to Minnesota for top 5 pick and M. Miller . Then they could use their top five pick on either J. Hill or Thabeet

I’d like to see the take Teague if he stays to back up Rose and Kirk at the 1 and 2. He could be a under control version of Gordon. They also need a big. Mullens is not my favorite pick but if thats who is left they definatly need to grab him. You can’t teach 7′.

Don’t see any players in this draft that would make the Bulls better. If they could draft a coach or trade both picks and Vinny to LA for Phil Jackson. I would take that.

Best options would be to go for Tyreke Evans and maybe Hansborough or someone else of higher value.
This draft is weak, but Evans is young and has high potential at pick 16. He could develop into a similar if not better version of Salmons and he would have the time to do that by playing behind Salmon or Gordon. Tyler Hansborough is going to hustle and play hard. he has good range out to 15 feet which helps on pick and roll or pick and pop.

The best option for Paxson would be resign Gordon (everyone who thinks Gordon should go is silly, He was arguable the Bulls best player all season or most consistent.) Get Deng back in rotation, Play Tyrus and stop YoYoing, Play Noah, and hope Rose becomes a better playmaker for all of them. The rest will fall into place.

These picks are simply role players or future assets.

The Bulls need a big body to grow with Rose and Noah. BJ Mullens is the best for them guys. Look, BJ not only gives them scoring inside but potential to be dominant. I’m not saying he’s going to be dominant but he might reach an average of 16 ppg and 2 blocks which is good. Then they won’t have to trade just toget someone and experiment when you have a project right here. Besides, it’s no guarantee if they get a Bosh or Stoudemire. Last, they should get someone like T.Will with the 26th pick. He can play point and the SG position.

Ben Gordon isn’t worth a dime over 7 mil a year. If he’s willing to come back for 7 or less then cool… otherwise I agree with taking Teague and actually have him come off the bench instead of starting the absolute worst defensive backcourt in the league. Then at 26 I agree we’re looking for a role player so you could go a TON of ways; size would be nice be there really isn’t anyone I think would be that helpfull. There are a bunch of 2/3’s I think could actually fit: DaJuan Summers, Terrance Williams, Sam Young, Tyler Smith and (he’s more of a backup PG/combo guard) Nick Calathes who all may be available.

If they were able to keep Ben Gordon then I think Terrance Williams becomes more valuable to the Bulls to the point you almost just take him at 16 and go with the best available player at 26.

I think they need to let Gordon go. I said it in another post. Gordon is going to stunt Rose’s growth because Rose gives him the ball and gets out of the way. Thats not what you want your franchise player doing. Get rid of Gordon. Try to trade up to get a Big and Teague. There will be a few teams looking to trade down this year. Take advantage of the money you will save loosing Gordon and buy you a Pick.

WELL FIRST OF ALL I THINK WITH THE 16TH PICK THEY SHOULD GO WITH TYREKE EVANS IF HE DROPS THAT LOW HE’S TERIFFIC COMBO GAURD HE HAS A ELITE BALL HANDLING SKILL TO PLAY BACK UP POINT AND MAYBE GIVE U ABOUT 10 PPG HIS ROOKIE YR DUE TO EXPERINCE THAT WOULD BE A GOOD PICK BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY PICK NOW WHY IS THAT……..???? BEACAUSE THE CHICAGO BULLS ARE LOOKING AT 2010 FREE AGENT POOL I BELIVE STRONGLY THIS OFF SEASON BEN GORDON WILL GET THE MONEY HE WANTS. THERE WILL BE A SIGN AND TRADE BETWEEN THE BULLS AND THE HOUSTON ROCKETS BG GOES OVER THERE WE WILL TAKE T-MAC EXPIRING CONTRACT AND THAT WILL CLEAR BIG DOLLARS FOR HIM AND LETING GO KIRK HINRICH AND WE WILL TRY TO GET HOME TOWN D’WAYNE WADE (2010)……..AS FOR THE 26TH PICK WE SHOULD GO AFTER TYLER HANSBROUGH HE’S VERY PHISICAL CAN REBOUND THE BALL POSIBLY A 12 POINTS 7 BOARDS TYPE OF GUY HUSTLE AND RUNS THE FLOOR. CHECK OUT MY ROSTER FOR NEXT SEASON
    STARTING 5
    PG. D.ROSE
    SG. J. SALMONS
    SF. L. DENG
    PF. TY THOMAS
    C. J. NOAH

I like the Mulllens and any combination of a perimeter player like Williams, Teague, and even Thorton.

Since the bulls might lose Brad Miller next year at the end of his Contract they should draft Mullens at the 16 and then have Miller teach him for a year like he has done for Noah recently. With the 26 its a little bit harder to get what u want at such a late pick but if the Bulls were smart they should go for Calathes he is a large guard who plays at a good level and didnt get much attention since he played in the NIT this year instead of the NCAA bracket. both players have size at thier position, and like all smart people know you cant teach size.

So you would have lineup as so:
    Starters:
    PG: Derrick Rose
    SG: John Salmons
    SF: Luol Deng
PF: Tyrus Thomas (depending on who is coach Vinny doesnt seem to like Tyrus)
    C: Jo Noah
    Bench:
    PG: Kirk HInrich
    SG: Nick Calathes
    SF: Tim Thomas
    PF: BJ Mullens
    C: Brad Miller
    2C: Aaron Gray
2SF: Linton Johnson III (if still with team)
2SG: J Nelson (most likely will be put on DLeague team)

Thats a good Eastern Conference Team makeing it the the Eastern Conference Finals if not next year defenetly the years afterword

I don’t see this happening because Adelman perfers people who can play defense. A backcourt of Brooks and Gordon does not offer much defense or size. I think they wouldn’t mind moving T-Mac, but just don’t think for Gordon.

As for the Bulls pick, at 16 I think they should take a chance at BJ Mullins if he is there. I could also see them packaging the 16th, 26th picks with Hinrich to move up and select Hill or Thabeet.

If they keep their 26th pick, I think should be used on swingman such as T. Williams, Thornton, or Sam Young

At 16….BJ Mullens, Miller can teach him for a season and like someone said he could be dominant. Very high ceiling.

At 26….Marcus Thornton/Nick Calathes, They can take the spot of Kirk just fine.

    Re-Sign BG , Trade Kirk.

it seems like everyone is forgetting that the bulls have luol deng, they don’t need a small forward..because they will have deng and salmons coming off the bench, they need a versatile 2 guard like t-will or a good scorer like marcus thornton, wayne ellington, or budinger, i personally think ellington is the best choice because they would still have a great outside shooter he can come off of the screen like ray allen.

and i think mullens is good too

Last I checked this guy was a total bust at Ohio. He was a potential top 5 pick a year ago and now he’s late first round material?

I think everyone on this post needs to take a step back and look at where the Bulls finished this season and at what pace. Not one TNT, ABC, NBA TV analyst on the planet would suggest Chicago ditch Ben Gordon and hope for BJ Mullens to become dominant with 16ppg and 2 block numbers. Seriously since when has that type of production been dominant.

This team is one solid player away from being in the Eastern Conference finals. If the playoffs have taught us anything, it’s that you can win without a Offensive big man as long as you have interior defense and Toughness. Check Boston and Houston.

Any picks made this year by the Bulls will simply be role players, and quite honestly I don’t have any faith in Chicago”s coaching staff when it comes to player development. (See Tyrus Thomas, Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler) The Bulls would simple draft Mullens, never play him, trade him in his final year for a late first rounder or a contract and he may develop elsewhere. (Likely the path of Tyrus)

Only Vinny Del Negro would replace athletic shot blocking (Tyrus) with a slug and a defensive liability in Brad Miller.

I only hope that management in Chicago gets a coach that will teach D Rose the basics of pick and roll BBall otherwise his future is as bright as Monte Ellis (good but not great)

Also…Ben Gordon played the best bball with D Rose this season and shouldn’t hurt his growth whatsoever. Rose needs offensive players around him that can be on the positive end of his playmaking. Gordon was the only player to live up to that. If Gordon is not in Chicago next season I see him somewhere like San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans or Detroit making shots and winning like he has always done.(only 1 losing season in 4 years)

I’m pretty sure that Rose’s best game of the series invloved Ben Gordon not chucking up stupid shots. Correct me if i’m wrong.

yeah so far we have learned that ben gordan didn’t stunt roses growth he actually helped it. his leaving has stunt his growth though. also that james johnson wasn’t gonna come in and start and move anyone to a different position. and that this draft class isn’t as weak as some thought. and good thing the bulls didnt draft bj mullins…someone got it damn close with the draft thought saying the bulls should draft james johnson and taj gibson
