SamCarlsonParticipantBucks Trade Greg Monroe, Damien Ingles for
Avery Bradley and Jonas Jerebko
Had to throw in other players for salary and roster reasons but the primary trade is Monroe for Bradley.
Reason this works for Bucks: Bradley is a combo guard, very small for the 2 but prolly not equipped for responsibilities of running the full time PG. With Giannis running the point Bradley is essentially a 2 guard on offense. Maybe not a great shooter but can hit open threes and would dramatically improve their defense guarding opposing PG’s.
They could then try and pick up someone like Festus Ezeli to pair with Plumlee and Henson so they have better D and shotblocking plus rim running on offense.
Reason this works for Celtics: Their current backcourt is TINY and they get very little production up front. They will prolly get Murray or Hield in the 3 spot and upgrade size (and maybe shooting) at the starting 2 guard and also add needed front court production. With all his defecienceies Monroe is still giving you 15 and 9. They are starting Sully so he cannot be much worse on defense and if any coach can hide Monroes defensive flaws for 28-30 mins a night its Stevens.
Thoughts?

Mr. HookShotParticipantBucks need shooters on the wing, Bradley is not one of them. Monroe would give the Celtics more of the same: offensive minded big men who cannot defend very well. That is the main issue with guys like Monroe, Kanter, Al Jefferson etc.: they’re really good on offense, but on defense they’re not good at defending the rim, and they’re unable to stick to 4s in today’s game either.

The GoatParticipantNo one is dealing with the Celtics. Everyone knows theyve fleeced draft picks and now sit in a position where they are a star player away from the top of the east. Why would an opposition team now give them a star for a package of their picks they are unable to draft a star with, or for a bunch of role players? Teams arent going to try help Boston. They better get in the top 2 or draft really well.

Hype MachineIm not convinced the Celtics are a star away from the top of the East. Theyd need 2 stars at least.
They just arent that good at the moment. And in a trade they would give up good players that other teams actually want too.
The Cavs would still be way ahead.
Although a rebuilding or western conference team wont care who they deal with if it means getting a high pick in a trade

ExumInfernoParticipantIt is a fair trade. Boston gets inside scoring, Milwaukee adds the defensive guard to chase point guards and also be a spot-up shooter.
Boston have Smart who can be the defensive guard to replace Bradley, the Bucks use J Parker to score instead of Monroe while getting more minutes for the defender Henson.

HitsterParticipantThe Bucks need some shooters and the Celtics have a couple of bigs who are good shooters so I could see deals being looked at perhaps. Monroe has a player option in 2017/18 so a team like the Celtics would not give up a load for him. The Celtics have Johnson’s team option for next year so could use that as a deal centrepiece for Monroe with one of their shooters.
