LEKYManParticipantSamuel D has only a year left so will the Buck be back in the same position next year needing a center? Tageting PJ III now I hope and not T Jones.

Stinky34ParticipantThey are going to be in good shape… I would be surprised if they draft a center at 14… From what ive seen Meyers Leonard could be there… I would take Perry Jones or move back again and take Quincy Miller… Both can play the 3 or 4… Dalembert can always get extended and probably for a decent price…

machu46ParticipantAgree with everything you say here. I’m hoping for PJIII, Ross, Lamb, or one of the centers, and don’t want to even consider Terrence Jones.
If Meyers Leonard or Zeller make it to 14, I’d still like to take them and pair them with Dalembert. I think that would be good for them. Zeller can start right away; Leonard would have a chance to learn from Dalembert and be brought along slowly.
But really, anyone besides Terrence Jones and I’ll be happy. I think he’d be buried behind Ilyasova (if we bring him back), Gooden, Udoh, Sanders, and Mbah A Moute on our depth chart.

Stinky34ParticipantIm not sure why everyone hates Terrence Jones so much… I think he would be a great replacement for Ilyasova… The Nets are going to offer Ilyasova alot of money that he is not worth… He has had half a good season and had been inconsistent otherwise… If Perry Jones is there id take him but if they took Terrence Jones I wouldnt be mad… Hes a PF tgat can stretch the floor and get to the basket…

machu46ParticipantA few things:
1. Not sure if the Nets will offer Ilyasova "a lot", but I do think that somebody will try to overpay him (and that could easily be the Bucks as well).
2. The Bucks have had Ilyasova for a while now; first, waiting for him to come over from overseas, and then a few years with the club now. He’s improved dramatically and it seems like things finally clicked with him down the stretch last year. He started looking for better shots instead of just relying on the 3 pointer all the time, and his efficiency soared. On top of that, he has a good motor, chasing after loose balls and stuff, and was probably our best rebounder, both offensively and defensively.
3. Personally, with Terrence Jones, I see a guy that’s basically a more perimeter based Larry Sanders. Extremely raw, but a good defender. Jones doesn’t have good enough handles to play SF in the NBA. He’s a face-up PF like Blake Griffin. However, Griffin is EXTREMELY driven, whereas there’s question marks about Jones’ motor (not to mention Griffin was absolutely dominant in college, whereas Jones disappeared for long stretches in games). His shot is pretty decent for a PF, but he’s nowhere near someone like Ilyasova in that category. And Jones was a poor finisher around the rim in college despite that fact that he was stronger and longer than just about every single player he played against (and it’s alarming that he constantly tried to shoot THROUGH people, basically just relying on his length and strength and not developing any skill as a finisher whatsoever).
If it’s within reason, I think it’s crucial to bring Ilyasova back next season, and add a wing player or another center to pair with Dalembert. Terrence Jones doesn’t fit the bill.

BasterdInABasketParticipantI liked the Dalemert trade a lot for us. They got a very efficient 8 & 8 guy who can defend and is their only true center though Sanders, Udoh and Gooden can spot some backup minutes at the 5. They also weeded out some end of the benchguys who probably werent going to figure into the rotation.. Brockman (GOODBYE TO YOU!!! waste of a roster spot), Leuer (decent bench scorer but didnt see much pt at the end of last year) and Livingston. This is why they need to look for a wing scorer to come off the bench for this year.
Ross or Lamb would look great as a couple 2s with good size to play with the slight of frame Ellis and Jennings. My Bucks Big Board would look like this at 14:
1 Ross (Bucks like him a lot and I think he’s defintiely their guy if hes there)
2 Lamb (Would be one skinny backcourt but I can see him playing off Ellis and BJ a la Kemba 2 yrs ago)
3 PJIII (boom or bust, Hammond could take a shot and try to look like a genius in his contract year)
4 Leonard (Would be great value at 14 andwould learn a lot from a pro like Dalembert)
Stay away from TJones, Zeller, Henson

RapCityParticipantAlthough there entertaining, I’m not a fan of undersized backcourts. Dont call me crazy but if I would draft Terrence Ross, move Brandon Jennings (who does want to play in a bigger market anyways) and start Monta at the PG. Yes I know, Monta is a scorer but keep in mind he did average 6 assist last year compared to Jennings 5.5 a game. If possible, move Brandon for a solid SF or a solid centre. Just a crazy idea

machu46ParticipantI’m curious to see what happens with Jennings. I know they plan to talk about an extension startirng July 1st. He’s a good young player, and he’s said countless times that he loves it in Milwaukee and would love to be the face of our franchise.
I think a backcourt with Jennings and Ellis can work if:
1. Jennings continues to improve his skills and shot selctions
2. We have a big guard like Dunleavy and Ross to play off of them
3. We have a few rim protectors (Dalembert is a start, but we need more)
Edit: The Nuggets used a backcourt of Ty Lawson and Andre Miller together in the playoffs against the Lakers and that was arguably their best lineup and gave the Lakers a lot of fits. It can work.
