Now I know ESPN is going to have a field day with this trade but my first reaction was this. Even after gaining KG, Pierce, and Terry (assuming the trade goes through), I still don’t see the Nets being better than 4th in the East this season. They’re not better than the Heat, Bulls, and Pacers in my eyes. Plus they have a line-up of guys who are not necessarily known for their defense whereas the three other teams make their name for defense. Bottom line, I think the Nets can win their division and probably win about 50-55 games this season but I don’t see them making it any further than the second round in the East.

Any thoughts on this topic?

they still need to be better defensively, and they should look to add in free agency, but i dont see any reason why this team couldnt be in the conference finals.

I think the Nets have more depth than the Pacers and they will be a nightmare matchup for the Heat.

Your nuts if you think the nets are better then the pacers. terry was awful last year and will only be worse. Lance will be better then johnson next year. West and garnett are about even. Roys better then lopez who i think is very overrated on this site.

I don’t think you can compare the nets and pacers on a player by player basis. The nets are old and slow and the pacers are young, physcial, and play good D. I put the nets at 4 in the East and may get 2 wins against Miami in the second round (if they advance).

I’m pretty sure Blatche is a free agent so there’s no guarantee that he’ll be back just to let you know. Plus I’m expecting Orlando Johnson to get more minutes for the Pacers this season. The Pacers are bound to pick up a back-up point guard for George Hill too.

Ronnie Brewer and Devin Ebanks can defend. Zaza Pachulia, Jason Collins, Joel Przybilla, and Jermaine O’Neal are big. The options are not going to be slim.
