The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThe Nets would want McCaw and a 1st round pick to start, maybe even Looney too…Andre is a bigger piece to the Warriors system then people realize, it’s this reason alone the Dubs wouldn’t want to part ways with Iggy yet, even if they can get Lopez (who is a terrible fit for the Warriors IMO)
The Warriors need to replace what they lost in Bogut and Speights off the bench…They need size at C, they’ve been getting killed on the boards…

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantNets would not make this trade. They want young players and/or picks for Lopez. Also, trading levert would not make sense because he is hurt. They would not get good value in return for him.

Robb_CParticipantIf the Nets can trade Brook Lopez for a couple of equal contracts and a pick that would be an ideal situation.. This would give the Nets an opportunity to Hedge these contracts later down the road.. Once they’re able to clear the Lopez contract, they can start looking to free agency and begin signing fiscally responsible talent.
Invest into Player Development!! I cant stress this enough, begin building a brand that a journeyman player/Agent believe in.. The Chicago Bulls were doing this extremely well when Tom Thibodeau was the Head Coach. Chicago would find favorable contracts and develop them, these players re-enter the free agency market getting better deals from other teams.. When Agents start seeing a team doing this consistently, they become easier to negotiate with..They know a team like this will create value for his player long term.. Another example Evan Turner in Boston
Once the Nets establish this mindset and build an infrastructure thats self sustaining, they can start building through the draft..

Mike guytonParticipantI really don’t think he is a bad fit at all he is 7 foot tall he has a very gd touch around the rim and with a little attitude adjustment he could be a monster all around player I would give up Shaun Livingston looney McCaw 1rounder for Lopez and yogi ferrell

HitsterParticipantBrook has nearly 2 seasons left on his deal so if the Nets are going to move him, now would be a fairly good time as his trade value is high. The Nets need to rebuild and there is an arguement to do that around Brook who is their best player. But in summer 2018, he could walk as an FA so they get nothing back for him.
We’ve discussed his likely locations before and there was talk this week that Chicago might try to link him up with his twin brother. The Bulls have a pick due from Sacramento potentially next summer and own all their first rounders, Taj Gibson expiring deal, one of Mirotic, Portis or Valentine gives them the sort of pieces they could use to put a deal together easily.
Houston are apparently looking for a 2nd star to be Harden’s main running mate and Lopez’s scoring would be ideal for Mike D’Antoni’s system. I don’t see an obvious deal there, I’d guess Nets would want Capela plus picks for any deal plus contracts to balance out trade.

The GoatParticipantI’d go after Nerlens Noel if I was Warriors GM, hope his hands and passing improve. ..
Agree, possibly Chicago for Brook Lopez, he’s been hitting the three ball, so that helps if you play his brother/Gibson, Wade and Rondo with him. Brooklyn should go after Portis in that case.
