I’m loving the recent moves the Pacers have made:

– Trading Kawhi Leonard for George Hill. Leonard may develop into a solid small forward, but we already have Danny Granger and Paul George. Hill serves a big need in the backcourt, plus he’s a hometown kid.

– Hiring Frank Vogel as head coach. He’s young, but I liked what he showed last season. He gets the max out of young players, relates to the players and stresses defense.

– Bringing in Kevin Pritchard as Director of Player Personnel. He wasn’t perfect with the Blazers and made some mistakes, but he did a great job rebuilding that roster and helping turn that team around. He could eventually replace Bird. 

– Hiring Brian Shaw as Associate Head Coach. I love what he’s going to bring to the team and coaching staff.

I really think things are looking up for this team.

The Pacers are my second team , my grandparents live there went during the summers, and I didn’t like the George Hill trade he and Collison can’t play at the same time in my opinion, they would be abused defensively, and Kawhi could have gotten us more or we could have taken a SG or traded down and picked up extra picks.

Yeah, they have a lot of potential, and now that I think of it, they are pretty deep. They have Collison and Hill at the point, they have Rush and Dahanty Jones to give them decent production, Granger and Dunlyvey give them shooting, and Granger gives them scoring, Hansbrough, Foster and Mc Roberts give them gritty and tough blue collar guys who will get it done, and Hibbert gives them a solid big. And i didn’t even mention what Stephenson and George could become.

By the way, what does an Associate Head Coach do?

I don’t know why Hill and Collison can’t play together. Hill played alongside Parker just fine in San Antonio. He showed he could defend both backcourt spots, depending on the matchup.

The Pacers don’t necesarily have to start Hill. They could start George at the two and bring Hill off of the bench.

Was that a typo, cause, last time I checked, a player’s surname doesn’t count as  another player.lol

Or were you refering to Paul George, but I didn’t know George could play the two, I always viewed him as sort of a Kevin Durant type, a 6-9 three, that can get boards, but not necesarily bang with bigs down low. But if you were refering to Paul George, that would give them excelent height, but the question I have is who gets the majority of the minutes at the four.

Hill has that experience. He comes from a winning organization. He’s played in big games and was on the floor when it counted. He’ss the kind of player the Pacers need, regardless of if he starts or not. The Pacers aren’t trying to go backwards… They’re only trying to expand on last season’s playoff appearance.

He also gives the Pacers someone who can create his own offense off the dribble, which is something they need.

Honestly, In March I was really doubting their future, wondering if they would get stuck in mediocrity, but they have definetly turned the corner. From Hill to Pritchard to Shaw and Vogel, the right decisions have been made, and the Larry Bird show is really looking up.
