BenchWarmerParticipantHey guys, been a long time for me, anyways welcome me back to you…
I just wanted to acknowledge Brett Brown for his professionalism being in the position he has been in. I just feel like he has handled himself as well as he or any other coach for that matter could have handled 76’s situation. Between the log jam of Centers and the Dleague level rosters that he has coached in the past. I feel like the dude has put in his time both at an international level and during his decade long stint with the Spurs, that he has truly earned the right to see this thing come to fruitation once Colangelo and the rest of the staff have decided on the long term core of this team. Hopefully they add another stud (Fultz/Monk/Ball/Jackson) in the draft and add some veteran shooting like a Gallo or McDermott kind of player to bolster this team so we can start to see this team get back in the playoffs.
Also on a subpost, how many Pop deciples do you see around the league as head coach or otherwise?

SubZeroParticipantIt’s rare that you see a struggling team stick with the same coach, but I’m glad they did because he deserves it and not many people could do what he’s done dealing with this situation. I think he’s the right guy for the job, but we’ll see how he is as a coach on a good team if they develop as we expect them to do.
Off the top of my head, Kerr, Budenholzer, and Brown are all disciples of Pop, but I’m sure there are plenty more

Sewok15ParticipantThey won their 3rd in a row with a depleted roster in Charlotte tonight. Saric is really impressing me of late and although he hasn’t shot the ball well this season he has been great in all other areas of the game.
I have always loved the way Brown handled his situation with the awful rosters he was given the last two years but it is even better to see him translating it to wins this year. As someone who has watched almost all of their games they are so much more fun to watch even lately with no Embiid. I believe he will have them in the playoffs next season with Simmons and another rookie or two.

EndlessknightParticipantOver the last 5 games he’s averaging 19 points on 51% shooting, 41% from 3, 90% from the line. I think he’s finally turned the corner.

BeastMode716Participantthat new GM Rich Guy’s kid Bryan Colangelo leaves Brett to basically act as the GM & take all the tough questions b/c Colangelo can’t field the questions w/o being caught in Lie after Lie
The Sixers GM said they would restore credibility & focus on winning right now – that was just 10 months ago in April right before they landed the #1 pick in the Ben Simmons sweepstakes (100% thx to Hinkie)
Here’s the question moving forward. Colangelo is Clearly using the Simmons injury (a fairly routine Jones Fracture) as an opportunity to Tank. The Average games missed for a Jones Fracture that did NOT need a 2nd surgery in NBA History is Only 27 games! Colangelo is allowing rumors to Swirl that Simmons agent is holding him out & his abscence has Nothung to do w/ the team even though they announced his foot was 100% healed nearly 8 weeks ago & the #1 pick has Still not even practiced One time.
The question is does Simmons hold a grudge? B/c Colangelo is making Simmons look like a Fool, he looks like he is soft & that his agent runs him when it appears to be 100% Colangelo Tanking. Does Simmons force his way out of Phila eventually b/c of this??? or is Simmons relationship w/ Brett Brown – who is as Honest as they come – overcome Crooked Colangelo sabotaging his own team & punking Ben Scrizzle?
