steviechillzParticipantWho are some of the players you guys think could breakout next year in 2016-2017. Although it’s hard to say when there should be a lot of roster moves this offseason for every team, but one of my choices would be Dante Exum. The guy is still only 20 years old, but looked like he was poised for a starting gig in Utah before the injury that sidelined him for the whole 2015-2016 season. With his only competition as of now at PG in Utah(Burke, Mack, Neto); at six foot six, Exum should be able to show what he did back in Australia this upcoming season. I could see a 15 PPG 5 APG 5 RPG type season. Which I’m sure the Jazz would be ecstatic about.
Who do you guys think will step up next season?

Hype MachineI actually started the Dante Exum hype train way back…but hes not ready for those numbers.
Hes coming back from surgery and although he got his Rookie Season out of the way, he spent that mostly standing in the corner, playing defense and ironically, trying not to get injured.
If he is back to 100% explosiveness (rare just after ACL surgery), he will be an All Defense candidate. The Jazz went on a great run once him and Gobert started together.
My breakout candidate is Bradley Beal. Injury free and raining 25ppg on efficient numbers.

ZouldiersParticipantBased on his playoff performance, I’m going with Bismack Biyombo. He broke out during the playoffs when JV went down with an injury and his play so far will get him a huge contract this offseason. I won’t be surprised if he average a double-double in points and rebounds next season. Somewhere around 10+ppg, 11+ppg, and 2+bpg. Should be a candidate for MIP next season.

DukeDaSquadParticipantAs a fan of the Bucks, Im rolling with either Giannis, or Jabari. Giannis will be the full time pg going forward (no pun inteded), and Jabari will be capitalizing on his play after Allstar break along with his improved jumper and defense

stealsgaloreParticipantI would agree with Jabari, especially if his 3 point shot comes around. He could be incredible offensively.
Another player I would watch out for is Aaron Gordon. I’ve always liked Gordon and I think he’s a hard enough worker (to go along with the amazing physical gifts). If they get good PG play I think he could become a slightly lesser version of Shawn Marion. Maybe 16 PPG 8-9 RPG with a couple assists a block and a steal. I think his shooting is coming along as well maybe he could the 3 point percentage to a respectable 35-38%

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantYep, Jabari Parker and Aaron Gordon are near the top of my short list. Also Boban Marjanovic (esp if Duncan retires) and Harrison Barnes if he leaves GS

Magic JordanParticipantAssuming the Lakers can’t convince a high level scorer to sign in LA D Russ is going to take the 2nd year step. I can see him somewhere around 18 5 and 5 next year. Book it.

Evan_MilbergParticipantI think Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rodney Hood and Gary Harris are all prime candidates for a breakout year.
Although the Pistons got swept by the Cavs this year, I was really impressed with KCP, who shot a pretty good percentage from deep for the series and at times looked like a go-to scorer. I think he and Reggie Jackson will be mentioned more often next year as one of the most promising backcourt duos in the East.
Speaking of good shooters, I think Gary Harris makes the leap to 17-20 ppg next year. While Barton got a lot attention, Harris also made a major leap in his second year. I think he’s eventually going to become the player everyone wants Bradley Beal to be.
I also think Rodney Hood could be a sleeper. I only caught a few Jazz games this year, but Hood really seems like an effortless scorer. Awesome to see him healthier than he was his rookie year. If he can get that shooting percentage up, I could see him being a long-term answer as a primary option for the Jazz if they can’t re-sign Hayward in 2017.

Captain LParticipantI think the Jazz are priming everything in such a way that Exum will have every opportunity to have a breakout year. As a Jazz fan I could also see Hood having an improved yr . My hope and I think he’ll get his chance too is for Trey Lyles, the Jazz are way high on him and I don’t think they will resign Booker so Lyles can get the minutes he needs.
I Agree with Jabari , Gordon and Barnes ( if not with Warriors).

NZBennyParticipantI know Adams has sort of already broken out these playoffs, but I think he is a better version of Biyombo. Can shoot from the line better, more physical and a semblence of a post game when the match up is right. Plus a great defender, screen setter and roll man.
Also, I totally agree with the D’Angelo call. As long as his teammates dont freeze him out he will be great, expecially with a competent coach.
