0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/22/2009 - 2:49pm #187951

llperezOdom’s back, Artest is in, Bynum will be healthy, Gasol is in his prime, Farmar and Brown will start taking more minutes from Fish, and if all else fails you still have a very hungry Kobe who wants to cement his legacy. The Lakers will be even better then last year.

PaulsJayhawksParticipantI think a very healthy Boston is the one ones who can compete.

0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/22/2009 - 3:07pm #187976
nthegoodlifeParticipantKobe and Lakers, but you guys make it sound so easy. They prolly are the front runners, but the NBA season is extremely grueling.

dwat4444ParticipantI’m going with the same nba finals as this year with the same result.

thetruthParticipantwin.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/22/2009 - 3:36pm #187990

sheltwon3ParticipantI see the Cleveland Cavalier versus Lakers. Shaq will show that he still has it againts Boston to prove a point and be to worn down to help Lebron against the Lakers. Orlando is still a tough match for Cleveland but Cleveland also beat Boston the year before and they have upgraded since then. Daniels is the x factor because he can play point and shoot a lil bit so Rondo’s shooting is not that big of a deal now and also if Ray Allen plays bad Daniels can step in. Wallace pick up to me does not do much but help them in the regular season where they can rest KG.

RUDEBOYI MUST ADMIT..THEY LOOK UNBEATABLE ON PAPER..BUT HOW WILL EVERYTHING COME 2GETTHER? REMEMBER THEY SAID THE 2004 LAKERS WERE GOIN TO WIN IT ALL..AFTER THEY ADDED PAYTON AND MALONE

RickyRubio9ParticipantI’m not penciling them in just yet. One-Bynum-Injuries
Artest-Loose Cannon
Kobe-Injury has to be coming sooner or later?
PG-Inconsistent
LO-Inconsistent
Teams like Utah, the Spurs, and Nuggets will have something to say about that. Oh, and if the Clippers can put it together…Possibly Hornets, but I think Iverson can push any of those teams over the edge! No lie, if he plays foreal…
Rockets! 🙂 T-Mac back. It’s my team so I have to believe and I do.0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/22/2009 - 4:15pm #188046
FutureoftheGameThats a big IF on the Iverson statement. He can push anyone over the edge IF he plays forreal.

llperezThe Lakers were heavy favorites in 2004 when they picked up Payton and Malone, and they might have won if Malone was able to play in the finals. He was doing great through the western confrence playoffs but was unable to play against Detroit, and Rasheed torched Slava Medvedenko for 5 games. I truly believe it might have been different with Malone.

FutureoftheGameDang man. The thing I remember most about Malone in the playoffs that year was when he “pulled the chair” on Yao and Yao fell on his butt. Classic old guy vs new GIANT move. I loved it.

llperezHe dropped 30 one game in the first round I belive against houston. And he did a hell of a job on defense. It’s crazy to think how well he played into his 40’s. He became a below the rim player, but his IQ, passing, defense, and shooting were still amazing.

FutureoftheGameYa know, when people talk about the best PFs ever, he never gets any love. Im not sayin that he is the best, but his name should be brought up every now and again.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantRickyRubio9 Kobe is a guy that always has room for improvement, he is so dedicated to the game……so 50% of injuries like pulling things won’t occur to him , he isn’t wild with his moves.
Artest is being called a loose cannon, but the guy wants to win, he even took a pay cut……..if he was as carzy as everyone say he was he wouldn’t have to the pay cut ….he getting old, and knows a championship is what he is aiming for
Derek Fisher plays his role…….he ain’t inconsistent
Bynum’s injuries is probably the only thing that could bit them in the ass
Non of those teams except the spurs boosted up their line-ups……they are the still team, and i doubt their same team will take them over the top
Lamar Odom was only inconsistent because he shoulder hurt……before the next game he said he gunna play, his heart out and not whine, and he had like 20 and 14
Don’t want to hate to hate but rockets = Lottery team= NO PLAYOFFSS

RickyRubio9ParticipantPG Play because the backups are horrible at times then good. I wasn’t really counting Fisher.

billykParticipantA healthy Boston team can beat the Lakers…. The key to this series will be IF Rondo improved his jumpshot over the summer cause if not Kobe will help off of him and the Celtics will be playing 4 on 5 on offense… I think Garnett and Wallace will punk Gasol,Bynum, and Odom in the paint….
Rondo > Fisher
Allen Artest
Garnett < Gasol
Perkins < BynumBench: Celtics
I would love to see this finals match up, but the NBA wants to have a Lakers vs Cavs finals…. That series would be one of the most watched in NBA history…. Lakers vs Cavs Finals = $$$$$$$
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/22/2009 - 5:16pm #188126

llperezthe the celtics could beat the Lakers, but I would’nt predict it. The Lakers have added Artest and Bynum since they last met in the finals, and only lost Radmanovic and Turiaf. Gasol and Odom are both tougher since that first finals experince as well. Artest used to gaurd Pierce as well as anybody when he was with the pacers. So I don’t think the celtics are gonna be punkin the lakers again.
But you bring up a good point billyk, last season when the lakers swept the celtics, Kobe just played off Rondo and dared him to shoot every time down similar to how he gaurded Ronnie Brewer. Rondo was unable to make Kobe pay, and it hurt the celtics big time because Kobe was qucik enough to keep him out the lane while also playing help on other guys. It was 4 on 5 as long as Rondo was out there.
