Honestly, I am not excited to see what happens with Melo as much as I am to see what happens to Gallo, Felton, Billups, Smith, Nene, Troy Murphy, Devin Harris, and a few others that may be connected to the trades…….

FINALLY. Not surprised that he ends up going to the Knicks, but my goodness it sure took them long enough.

if the rumor of gallo, chandler, felton and picks is true, then that aint bad for denver. Billups is still very good, but denver is going into rebuilding mode so no need to keep around a guy in his 30’s. Melo was on his way out anyways. My question is how good does this make NY this season? Can they compete with the best teams this year?

I hope that the Knicks now call up like 5 D-league guys… Joe Alexander, Patrick Ewing, Ramond Almond, maybe a signing like a PG such as TJ Ford and maybe Troy Murphy if he is bought out

That the deal has gone though. It’s looking like Anthony/Billups/S. Williams/A. Carter/Balkman to New York, Mozgov/Felton/Chandler/Gallinari to Denver, and Randolph/E. Curry to Minnesota, with Brewer going to Denver.

Denver is getting cash, a 1st round pick and raymond felton, gallinari, chandler and mozgov.  This seems like a good deal for the nuggets and carmelo gets to go to new york excited to see how they coexist

The Knicks gave up waaaay to much.  They were just bidding against themselves the whole time.  They blinked first, if they would have just waited till the last minute and not offered more than 2 players and draft picks and Anthony stuck to the story that he would not sign the extension with anyone but the Knicks, the Nuggets would have caved and made the deal rather than risk losing him for NOTHING at the end of the season.  The Knicks had to get him but I think they gave up absolutely too much.

Only good thing is this trade isn’t really about this year for the Knicks they’re not good enough to contend anyway, so it’s 2 great building blocks for the future.  Interesting to see how they start building around them this summer.  Landry Fields will be a great role player with this team.

couldn’t they have just signed him in the off-season and have an amazing team next year. They’re not winning it this year anyway.

Don’t really like the thought of Billups in the D’antoni offense, wish they could have kept Felton. He was playing great and was the only guy who really cared defensively.  He was such an upgrade over the crap the Knicks had at PG the last 10 years.

Anyone else feel bad for Ray Felton? Thrived in the UNC fast paced offense. Drafted at #5 to the slowest offense in the NBA. Finally he gets out and plays in an offense suited for him, and gets the perfect big man to play with. Then after by far the best half of basketball he has played as a pro he gets traded away from his perfect situation and has to start over w/o a great man.

They can probally get Paul and Gasol if they ease up and agree to take smaller contracts.

Not bad, the Nuggets came away with some real talented young players.

Also some draft picks and they moved Mello to the East what esle could they ask for.

Nuggets should be thanking Dolan for this.

BTW the Knicks roster looks more like this

    Billups/Douglas/Carter/Rautins

    Fields/Walker/Azubuike

    Mello/Shawne Williams/Balkman

    Stoudemire/Shelden Williams

    Turiaf/Barron

Nuggets lineup would be something like this

    Felton/Lawson

    Afflalo/JR Smith/Forbes

    Gallo/Chandler/Butch

    Harrington/Anderson/KMart

    Nene/Mozgoz/Ely
