0:10s: When was the last time you saw someone do that in the NBA? There is no purpose for such move.
    0:13s: Useless ball fake.
0:22s: Can’t see fully, but it looks like a carry.
0:30s: Useless stepback, specially if you can’t shoot. Lebron/ Durant/ Kobe/ Westbrook (the BIWs) don’t shoot these, neither should Tyreke.
    0:34: Carry!
    1:05s: Carry!
    1:21s: Carry!
    1:29s: Useless, Indecisive move.
    1:50s Carry!

Tyrekes handles are overrated, his handles look very good because he is a guy that is 6’6 220; frankly I prefer a guy like Irving that takes three dribbles then makes a move to get his shot not a guy that dribbles for 20 seconds going nowhere and then finally makes a move.@sharpe princejames has a man crush on Tyreke and kept talking about his crazy “handles”. He does too many pointless dribbling for my liking

how are you hatin the man in a fun game? he’s playing streetball style.. its like taking a and1 video and nit picking it to nba style of play
and hesitation moves aren’t carrying broseph..his hands are on the side of the ball

    the rule states:

A player who is dribbling may not put any part of his hand under the ball and carry it from one point to another or bring it to a pause and then continue to dribble again.

It’s a sizeup dribble….. it’s kind of like saying whats the point of the Shammgod move. Lots of NBA players do unnecessary dribbles in street ball, come on man. And to be fair, lots of carries and travels aren’t called in the NBA, referees give players the benefit of the doubt when it comes to carrying and traveling.

this is a footage of a scrimmage game…when have you seen a guy throwing the ball under his feet to the board for an alley oop dunk?this is playground ball…He is a good ball handler but i think it’s just exaggerated because of his size. And no he can’t really shoot. The thing is that Tyreke won’t become an all-star as long as he s in Sacramento/Seattle.You have a former rookie of the year #4 pick who played pg in Memphis play sg/sf so that Isaiah Thomas can play pg?Seriously? That’s just a bad move.I believe that any pg needy team that’s smart enough will trade for Tyreke

I want to see this one happen:Utah gives Al Jefferson for Tyreke and Jason Thompson

win win…Get Cousins to play PF(i believe that’s his natural position in the NBA)and have one of the best PF-C tandems in the NBA while Utah can start with Tyreke at the point and Mo coming off the ball Hayward at SF Millsap PF and Favors center while also giving some minutes to Kanter to develop him too…I don’t know if it works salary wise but i believe this could be better for both teams

Also i don’t think that Sacramento should trade for Millsap because they have T-Rob who is pretty much in the same mold.

He doesn’t look that adapt with his left hand like Iverson, Kobe, T-Mac and whoever else I’m missing.
Notice how 80 percent of his moves are really done with his right hand, while he uses his left hand kinda like a restart button.

That’s a good point about his left hand, but I still think his handles are monster. That hesitation dribble and his head fakes are serious.

Smh that he’s still the same player since high school though.

I like Evans handles. They’re excellent.

…but the poster has a point on some of the “carries”.

We argue about this all day at my gym. There are some guys who use the hesitation extremely effectively… but I’m one of the ones that suggest the pause at the top of the dribble while they flick their wrist in order to make me think they’re about to pick up the ball is a carry. My man to man defense is extremely strong for this level of competition and I can’t stop some one when they pull out that dribble. It tricks you into closing in on your man… and then they start dribbling again while your trying to stop your forward momentum on the closeout.

Its just not fair IMO… and its doubly annoying when I’m working so hard, only to get faked by a semi legal move. If they don’t hesitate and flick their wrist up and under, then I won’t bite.

I’ll let it slide if its not a close game or game point, but otherwise I’m calling that crap.

The sequence at about 1:05 is a good example of the wrist flick…up and under…Twice!

He is a very good ball handler, but he is a person that loves dribbling more than the average player like Steve Francis. I don’t think he is on par with Cp3, Rondo, T-mac, AI, Kobe, Nash, Jamal and so on. The truly ridiculous ball handlers.

For future reference when trying to degrade someones handles don’t choose a video where the ballhandler has the defenders on skates the whole time.

It’s not hard to have defenders on skates if you’re carrying the ball left and right.

I saw 2 carries in there…he definitely has very good handles. I don’t understand why you’re trying to discredit him, although I do agree he dribbles way too much. But just because he uses it too much doesn’t mean he’s any worse at it. Just means he has a horrible IQ

Tyreke doesn’t really carry the ball in a real NBA game. I do agree, if you have ever played against players at the park when every single dribble is a carry, it’s easy to get burned. Carrying the ball gives a huge advantage of being able to blow by you.

This is a better example of carrying that happens in pick up street games.

Me just thinking about this guy that I play against at the park is effing making me mad right now. This guy is the worst carrier you people wouldn’t believe, like even a basic dribble he has to carry it. Then he has the balls to talk smack when I get burned. I don’t carry at all, and it’s like going up against a person on steroids trying to guard a player that is doing it all the time. Next time I see him, I’m going to call him out around everyone at the park. I know every is going to agree with me that he is carrying cheat.

Hey man, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you do this before on this site. Not sure if it was Reke or another guy but you were also ripping on their dribbling prowess and you still have no idea what you’re talking about.
