Tell me who each team in the lottery would pick if they got the #1 pick and why. I will go first:

    Cleveland – Kyrie Irving

    Minnesota – Kyrie Irving

    Washington – Derrick Williams

    Sacramento – Kyrie Irving

First hard choice, could go with Williams, but if they pick Irving you could slide Tyreke to the two.

    Toronto – Kyrie Irving

    Utah – Derrick Williams

Another hard choice, Irving is a another possibility, but Williams is their type of player.

    Detroit – Kyrie Irving

    Milwaukee – Harrison Barnes

Already have Jennings and just drafted Sanders, so they go with their need which is a small forward.

    Charlotte – Kyrie Irving

    Golden St. – Harrison Barnes

Also could go with Irving, but they need a small forward and Barnes is their type of system player.

    Phoenix – Derrick Williams

    Houston – Kyrie Irving

Cleveland- Derrick Williams, I feel since Lebron left the SF position is currently the weakest position on this team.  If B-Diddy wasn’t here then I would have took Irving

Minnesota-  Kyrie Irving-  Flynn is ok and I have no idea about Rubio so I would take Irving here.  I feel that Irving will be the next Chris Paul and Minnesota is one of many teams that could use Irving.

Washington-  Derrick Williams-  Wall is already here and good so no way I take Irving here.  Im more towards taking Williams with the 1st pick here.

Sacramento-  Kyrie Irving-  No question here I would take Irving here.  I don’t have a lot of faith in Udrih starting at the point. I feel a backcourt of Irving and Tyreke could be sick.

Toronto-  Kyrie Irving-  Only here because Toronto needs a better pg.  This is confusing though because I feel that Williams could bring a little something to the table that Toronto needs which is defense.

Utah-  Derrick Williams-   the only way I take  Irving is if I trade Devin Harris for another draft pick. Williams here is the logical choice.

Detroit-  Kyrie Irving-   gives them a true pg and could slide Stuckey at the 2 and trade off Rip hamilitonf for a bag of peanuts ha ha ha jk.  No I’d trade Rip on draft night for a pick maybe middle in the draft or a first rounder next year.  Irving I feel will bring Detroit back hopefully like when Billups ran the point.

Milwaukee-  Derrick Williams-  scoring and defense something the Bucks need.  Williams to me is the right choice since they have Jennings and they took Larry Sanders last year.

Charlotte- Derrick Williams-  with Gerald Wallace traded to Portland leads me to take Williams here.  Irving though is tempting here too but i still take Williams

Golden State-  Derrick Williams-  Is there any reason why?  Yes you have Stephon Curry and Monta Ellis in the backcourt.  So why would you take Irving you wouldn’t.  The logical choice here is Derrick Williams and I’d like to see how Curry, Ellis Williams, Lee and Biedrins would pan out.

Phoenix-  Derrick Williams-  why him over Irving?  You got Aaron Brooks in a trade although if you took Irving you’d have a new pg of the future.  That is only if you got rid of Aaron Brooks.  Grant Hill is getting much older and could come in here.

Houston-  Kyrie Irving-  you traded off Aaron Brooks and my question is why?  This leads me to take Irving here.

Cleveland- Got 2 picks this year. With Andy Varejao and Hickson as starting C and PF the glut at PG, they most likely will take a wingman.

Minnesota- Rubio is going to be their PG of the future, with Beasley-SF,Love-PF and big man back-up Randolph.SO expect a SG.

Washington- WIngman to go with Wall,Blatche and McGee.

Sacramento-PG,SF or PF, Evans-SG and Cousins-C are the building blocks for the soon to be Royals future.

Toronto-A real Center so Bargnani could be the Next Dirk at SF.

New Jersey-If they re-sign Williams and get Kirilenko, they would go for a PF or SG only if they feel that James isn’t good enough and Morrow is a nice back-up.

    Detroit- A PG.

Milwaukee-Wingman,Bogut is the C,Jennings the PG,Sanders,Mbah a moute and Ilyasova at PF.

    Charlotte-Wingman or Center

    Golden State-SF

    Utah-SG/SF or C

    Phoenix-PG

    Houston-PG or C

Sorry to be the one to break it to you scoot over but if Williams got drafted byt the Raps he would be a sift player by the time Training Camp starts. Triano, Colengelo and everyone would have him focus on his offense and he would forget to develop that consistancy weve been wanting from him on the defensive end, especially if he plays SF. Raps are too soft to gamble.

The only wise thing to do with the 1st overall draft pick would be to improve either the PG, or C positions defensive presence. The first and last line of defense needs improvement on this team badly. Of they feel they can land one of the covetted PG’s such as Stuckey, or one of the covetted Center’s like asol then Harrison Barnes could also be okay to select. Big Board is still Irving, Kanter, Barnes imo.

    •  Cleveland=Derrick Williams: Very loaded at Point so that is why Irving is not a choice. They’re small forward is very weak and I believe that with the right Williams can turn into something special. Byron Scott is the right coach.
    • Minny=Kyrie Irving: I don’t believe Rubio, but even if he is coming over, he is not the point guard that Irving is. Not even close. But who knows what Kahn will do.
    • Wizards=Jared Sullinger(If he declares), if Sullinger does not declare then Derrick Williams
    • Kings=Kyrie Irving, obvious choice here, the Kings have been in need of a PG since the day Bibby left. YIKES.
    • Raptors=Enes Kanter: Tough one but I want to see Bargnani play the 4 so Kanter goes here to make that happen
    • Jazz=Derrick Williams: Tough one. Need SF badly with AK most likely signing elsewhere. But this one could be Barnes too, but personally I think Williams is better than Barnes
    • Pistons=Kyrie Irving: Stuckey needs to switch over to the two and this team isn’t going anywhere without a PG. Stuckey is not the answer their
    • Bucks=Derrick Williams:Tough one. Also need a SF, Barnes could just as easily be picked here too. But once again the fact that Williams is better wins it.
    • Bobcats=Irving
    • Warriors=Barnes: I think if you put Williams here his offensive game would be forced out of him and it would not be good. I also think Udoh is their starting Center of the future.
    • Suns=Irving: With Nash getting old and soon retiring, the Suns need someone to replace him. Irving can be that guy even if they already have Brooks.
    • Rockets=Kanter: They have needed a Center since the day that Yao got hurt. That need is more important then their SF need.

Cleveland- Kyrie Irving, he has the most potential to be a start player, which the Cavs desperately need. He can play behind the oft injured Davis or beside him like Ellis did in GS. Sessions should be easy to trade as he is a pretty good backup pg with a reasonable contract.

Minnesota- Kyrie Irving, can we stop kidding ourselves that Rubio will ever play with the Wolves? Also, Kahn always goes BPA, so this looks like what he will do. Ridnour and Flynn are no reason why the shouldn’t get Irving.

Washington- Harrison Barnes, They need a true 3 man. They have the future point guard and enough combo 3/4’s that they dont need to draft Williams.

Sacramento- Kyrie Irving, because Tyreke is not a true point guard and Irving will help him get back to his rookie year numbers and will also help out Cousins.. Would look really good for the future.

Toronto- Kyrie Irving, Calderon is getting older and is not a bonafide starter in the league. Irving/Calderon could split time until Jose is gone. Bayless is NOT the pg of the future for this team.

Utah- Harrison Barnes, this is a tough one. If Utah believes that Harris still has potential they willl do this, if not, they should go with Irving. Barnes would add a nice wing to this team who has multiple players who can play the power forward position.

Detroit- Derrick Williams, I still think they think that Stuckey is their point guard and this team desperately needs big men. Williams can play the 4 with Monroe at the 5.

Milwaukee- Derrick Williams, they have Jennings as their point guard so no need for Irving. Williams could play the 3 and the 4 for them going big and going small. Would add some offense to a team that has pretty much none.

Charlotte- Kyrie Irving, I would argue that the Bobcats don’t need a point guard as they have Augustin and Livingston, but Irving trumps those guys and both of them could bring in nice players in a trade. I also don’t think the ‘Cats need a wing as they have Henderson and Jackson starting their. They need a center, but I don’t see anybody (maybe Kanter), worth picking 1st overall..

Golden State- Harrison Barnes, weakest position is small forward and you know Barnes can play that position unlike Williams who may be a 3 or a 4, and if Williams cannot play the 3 their would be a logjam at the 4 with him, Lee, and Udoh.

Phoenix- Kyrie Irving, Nash is almost done and Brooks is not good enough to skip over Irving

Houston- Kyrie Irving, Lowry and Dragic? This is why they pick Irving lol.

If the Wolves get the #1 pick they won’t take Kyrie Irving, if they did the Wolves season ticket fan base would be in uproar, they’ve been promised Rubio next season and if the team doesn’t make good on that promise they won’t get many season ticket renewals, they’re already seeing many non-renewals because of the season they’ve had. Funny fact, the Wolves are actually in the Top 10 in the NBA for most season ticket holders, how, I do not know. If they lose their season ticket holders they are up the creek without a paddle.  If you’ve had a chance to watch their games on League Pass or if you live in the TC you’ve seen their lack of fans at the game, imagine if you remove their Top 10 most season ticket holders from the seats?  Sad, there is absolutely no local interest in the team, they need someone who can regenerate the fan base, they see Rubio as that guy.  I also know for a fact their marketing department is already freigtened over how they’re going to market the team if in fact Rubio doesn’t come.  In their current TV and Radio marketing campaign they mention ‘more Rubio sightings’ for this offseason, whatever that means. Unfortunately their owner Glen Taylor has also had double digit million dollar losses the last four seasons, his investors are very concerned, see their league low Pay Roll and Taylor nixing the done deal that would’ve sent Jonny Flynn to Houston for Aaron Brooks, they would’ve had to extend Brooks this offseason. I can’t imagine Enes Kanter would be on their ‘want’ list either because of his athletic limitations, Derrick Williams, Perry Jones, Harrison Barnes, or bust for the Wolves, also, expect Beasley to get moved to the bench sometime next year to be a instant offense type if Williams, Jones, or Barnes shows the ability to step up and Beasley doesn’t get better/mature over the offseason.  If those three aren’t available the pick gets moved with Flynn, maybe the Memphis pick, and some other fillers for a veteran and some more defensive help.  Sorry, I have a couple of friends that work within the Wolves org and listen to far too much Twin Cities sports AM radio, been away from the site for a while and I wanted to let y’all know what I’m hearing.  I’m actually optimistic about this team, I know the Flynn selection was terrible, but I know for a fact that the Wolves weren’t the only team that was willing to take Flynn in the Top 10, see the Kings if Tyreke wasn’t there, Toronto would’ve taken him over Derozan too.  Hopefully Rubio will turn out to be better than anybody in the ’09 Draft not named Blake, Tyreke, and Curry, that would at least make up for the Flynn selection.  Don’t expect anybody not named Love, Wes Johnson, Anthony Randolph, Beasley, Milicic, Pekovic, Martell, and maybe Lazar Hayward to be back on the team next year.  Flynn is guaranteed to be gone.

I can’t imagine Enes Kanter would be on their ‘want’ list either because of his athletic limitations, they also see Pekovic still having potential, plus they’ll never get equal value back for him right now because of struggles this season, the Wolves will see what they have with him for another year, their logic, from what I’ve been told, is that it takes a year for a European big man to transition to the NBA game.  Hopefully they can convince Darko that his only role should be as a 15 minute defensive presence in the middle, although his vision and passing ability are top notch for a Center, he still has so many mental lapses it’s disgusting.

They need much more athleticism in their frontcourt, Randolph has been a bit of a relevation these last two games, especially because he’s still not in game shape, but I’m still reluctant to call him a core player, he’s only had two games and we know of his mental lapses ad nauseum.  Derrick Williams, Perry Jones, Harrison Barnes, or bust for the Wolves, also, expect Beasley to get moved to the bench sometime next year to be a instant offense type if Williams, Jones, or Barnes shows the ability to step up and Beasley doesn’t get better/mature over the offseason.

Hopefully Johnson learns to be more crafty, change speeds, they run plays for him, screens, curls, ala Rip Hamilton, I think Rubio will help him a lot too, they really need two level headed PGs, a young like Rubio, and a vet like Ray Felton or Aaron Brooks, they’ve had so many problems at the ends of games because they don’t have any poise and lose their composure, they would be much better if they had anybody other than Flynn and Ridnour as their PGs, I didn’t realize how bad Ridnour is at the end of games, he may be worse than Flynn in crunch time, expect them both to be moved.  Don’t expect anybody not named Love, Wes Johnson, Anthony Randolph, Beasley, Milicic, Pekovic, Martell, and maybe Lazar Hayward to be back on the team next year.
