I think these guys are great pg’s, and will make some noise in the NCAA right from the get go. If you were John Calipari and you were trying to recruit a pg, which one would you take, Brandon Knight, or Josh Selby?

Well, obviously Coach Cal prefers Knight over Selby because Knight is a better passer and a better shooter, as well as being a better fit for his dribble drive offense. Assuming Bledsoe stays in school, which he should, Selby would not be a very good fit with him. They’re almost the same player, but Selby is much more athletic and is a better defender. As of right now, it looks like Knight goes to UK, Selby goes to KU, Doron Lamb ends up at Arizona, and Cory Joseph ends up playing with his brother at Minnesota.

Now, to answer your question..I really believe it depends on the style of play. Selby is a lot more explosive, but Knight is a winner and has a certain swagger about him that gives his team mates confidence. I’ll take Knight if I want a point guard, but Selby if i want a combo guard that’s a tough cover for anyone.

Yeah, your right, Knight would be a better fit, but isnt Knight a combo guard also?

Isn’t everyone a combo guard now? haha very rare to find a PURE point due to the change in today’s game.

I hope your right about Corey Joseph playing with his brother. If the Gopher get their top recruits back next year in Royce White, I think they’ll steal the Big Ten along with Corey at the point along with a much more polish Roodney Williams and the Twin Towers in Iverson and Sampson. They really need Royce White’s offense.

Selby isn’t going to Kentucky I can pretty much guarantee that. He will most likely end up at Kansas with Arizona having a shot. Also there have been rumors that he might reconsider Tennessee but I don’t know how much truth to put into that. They might get Knight but right now I would say he’s 50/50 between them and Florida.
