I read on HoopsHype a little over a week ago that the Bucks may be interested in dealing Brandon Jennings this offseason if the right offer came about due to the fact that Scott Skiles would prefer a point guard that plays better defense.  After thinking about where he could possibly be traded, I came to the conclusion that the LA Clippers would be the best landing spot for Jennings due to their need of a point guard, their trading assets, and location.  By acquiring Brandon Jennings, the Clippers would instantly fill their void at the point guard spot which they have longed to fill.  Also, with this trade, Brandon Jennings would get to play in Los Angeles – his hometown.  In addition, he would also get to team up with Blake Griffin who would probably make the game easier for Jennings.  People say that the Clippers need a good passing point guard so as to be able to get Blake a lot of open looks, but I feel that although Jennings has been called a chucker in the past, he would relish in the opportunity to have a dominant, athletic big that he could run with and wouldn’t feel the need to shoot so many ill-advised jumpers.   Plus, his lightning speed would allow the Clippers to run and gun like they should.  Lastly, the Clippers’ assests would provide for an equal trade in which the Bucks could get a good, young defense-playing point guard in Eric Bledsoe.  The trade could be Brandon Jennings for Eric Bledsoe, Willie Warren, and one of the Clippers’ two second round picks this year.  I believe that this trade would be a win-win trade scenario if the Bucks are indeed looking to moving on from the short Brandon Jennings era as they appear to be.  Remember, Scott Skiles has been known to give up on young point guards easily so he might just move Jennings to start over with a new young pg project.

Brandon Jenning needs to improve his jumper and then he’ll start making some noise

Why would the Bucks trade a proven starting PG for a Eric Bledsoe, Willie Warren and couple of 2nd rounder? Despite Bledsoe’s potential, he doesn’t touch Jennings potential and they are both almost equal in age, and Jennings is already established. The Bucks would have to get a proven starting PG in return if Jennings is to be traded.

What would trading Jennings for Bledsoe and Willie Warren solve? Bledsoe isn’t ready to start and he definitely isn’t better than Brandon Jennings. And Willie Warren isn’t a true NBA player right now, and who knows if he’ll ever be. Maybe Jennings to the Lakers would be better. That’s where I thought you were going with this when I read the title.

I like this deal for both teams on paper, but as someone who watches every clippers game I really like Bledoes game and demeanor on the floor.  It could be risky for the clippers to bring in jennings who could disrupt the chemistry the clips have been developing this last year.  Sometimes less is more and this might be one of those situations.

I agree with Jnixon and Mess.eee, that trade would do nothing for the Bucks. A trade I would purpose would be Russell Westbrook and Perkins for Jennings and Bogut and the the 10th pick. It would give the Bucks a Real franchise player and a good center and it would give the Thunder a big upgrade at center and a good PG.

@J-Nixon: I don’t feel that Jennings would fit in with the Lakers considering that 1) Kobe wouldn’t want a chucker at pg and 2) Mike Brown will want a good defensive point guard.

I’ve watched a lot of Bledsoe on the Clippers and he has a lot of potential on defense.  He is quick and strong, and is also bigger than Jennings.  I feel that Jennings’ flashier style would be a better fit with the Clippers than the Bucks.  Now i don’t necessarily know if that’s completely equal on paper, but I feel like if the Bucks would like to have a different pg, then getting a better defensive young pg in bledsoe with Warren and a pick wouldn’t be a bad return.

I’m sure that he wouldn’t chuck with Kobe on his team. And guys like Gasol and Bynum too. Jennings is a PG, people tend to forget. Milwaukee just didn’t have scorers. He’s an unselfish playmaker.

And Mike Brown would want a defensive PG? Like Mo Williams was right? Yeah. And plus, when it matters (in the playoffs) team D is much more important than individual D. Jennings will need to play D better than he has, but that will come as he gets stronger. Which HAS to be on his mind and needs to be worked, no matter if he plays in LA, Milwaukee or Greece.

he would be a perfect fit for the Lakers. the only problem is the Lakers dont have much to offer. unless milwaukee would make the deal for Shannon Brown and Ron Artest with draft picks, but that would never happen. the only player the Lakers have that they can move and Milwaukee would take is Andrew Bynum, but he is worth more than Jennings. Maybe a deal like Bynum for Jennings, Bogut, and 2 future first rounds picks could happen but I dont see the Lakers making that deal when they could possibly trade Bynum for Dwight Howard or CP3

If I’m gonna pull the trigger this off-season and get rid of a quick, young, talented point guard who has scored 50 points in a game I’m gonna need a lot in return. The saying sophmore blues doesn’t exist for no reason.  Not that I would imagine a trade like this would ever happen but I don’t think the Bucks settle for anything less than Rondo type talent.

The only way I ever see the Bucks dealing him this off-season is if it involves maybe a Kemba and a young power forward with big upside. Even then I don’t think they want to start over with a new Bogut/point guard combination. They would be far better place clearing their logjam of shot pigs…if at all possible.

Jennings, Salmons and Larry Sanders for Bargnani, Kleiza and the 5th pick.

Bucks get a new young backcourt to pair with great inside/outside combo of Bogut and Bargnani.

Raps get a proven young PG to play run and gun style, fill a need at the 3 and start Sanders in the middle as a shot changing defensive presence to pair with Defensive forwards Ed Davis and Amir Johnson.

Co-sign Rudeboy, Skiles has a habit of wearing out his welcome, and if he doesn’t like Jennings, I daresay he’d better pack up and leave.
