If you watch any Wizards games this year and you watch them last year you would notice a different Bradley Beal. You can see a different type of player in his style of play and his mentality. Bradley Beal now plays like he’s the best player on the court (not saying that he is), now he’s playing more modern (more threes, less long two’s, and more paint points), and he’s now able to create his own shot off the bounce.

So far this season (I know just 3 games in) he’s averaging 25.3 PPG and 4 RPG while shooting 47% from the field. 50% from 3 and taking twice as many free throws he did last year this year and shooting two more threes this year than last. He’s been aggresive and looking more like the Bradley Beal I expected him to be in previous years. He seems to really get it and really work extremely hard to be where he’s at now.

Before the season I predicted that Bradley Beal will be the most improved player of the year and right now I believe he have the legs up on the competition with the way he’s playing right now.

He’s not getting the contract right now, not because the Wizards don’t want to pay him, but because they can pay Kevin Durant 30% more or something next summer if he chooses to come to DC

They are definitely try to do what the Spurs did when signing Aldridge this past summer.  They want to sell KD on coming to DC before re-signing Beal likely to a max contract.

I believe Bradley Beal is on his way to stardom.  He might not ever be in the level of a Durant, Kobe or Lebron, but he is the next tier right below them in my opinion.  I live in the DC area and am a huge Wizards fan.  The guy is a stud.  He is an elite shooter, but he also is close to being an elite athlete.  You can tell this year he has the mindest to be one of the top shooting guards in the game.  His work ethic is top notch and he has improved every year he has been in the league.

He was one of the guys I was looking forward to watching the most this year. The past couple years it has been predicted that he’ll have a breakout year but it just hasn’t happened until this year. Even though he had a great playoffs last year and showed us what he can do, there were still those people that were saying that he can’t maintain that level over a season and that he would regress to the way he’s been the past few seasons (good, not great). I hope he can keep this up because I love watching him; John Wall’s my favorite player and seeing those 2 play together is always a sight to see.

My mate is a Wizards fan and says Beal could be a 30pt scorer in this league.

If Wizards had a dominant big-man, they could be the #2 seed in the East in my opinion.

Hypotheticals aside…the Wizards front court is really crap-tacular.

until now(didnt like his size or handles etc) . Its like hes taken on that old Paul Peurce demeanor. He looks really confident out there and is playing great. I have no problem saying I was wrong about this guy I hope he can keep it up. Obviously its early. He and Wall are gonna be quite a duo.

Is it a forgone conclusion that he or KD will sign for less if KD chooses to come to DC?   Because that’s the only way that can work.

The collective bargin agreement says they HAVE to sign their current player first and then sign the free agent.  They can’t sign KD and then sign Beal to go over the cap…   So, they’re either not going to sign Beal if that’s the case.

No it doesn’t. If they’re a restricted free agent you can wait and sign guys before re-upping with your own guy. The Spurs just did it signing Aldridge then Kawhi. The Suns just did it signing Chandler first then re-signing Knight. The Bucks did it with Monroe then Middleton…I’m sure there’s plenty more examples too. They can both get max $. The only way their plan can be messed up is if Beal forces their hand and signs an offer sheet elsewhere while KD is still deciding which team to sign with.
