Veteran center Brad Miller has agreed to a three-year contract worth nearly $15 million with the Houston Rockets, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The Rockets were always considered a strong contender to win the summer race to sign Miller. He attracted interested from numerous teams but was strongly lobbied to move to Houston by Rockets coach Rick Adelman and guard Kevin Martin after the trio’s success in Sacramento.

He is a good player but i don’t understand the signing at all. The rockets have 7 big guys that deserve a fair ammount of playing time…i don’t see how they are going to play all of these guys.

i think Brad Miller may even start the season out while Yao gets his legs back under him… they can even eventually play him and yao together seeing how miller can stretch the floor and is also a great passer in adelmans system in the high post… great pick up

4 seed in the west proabably means contender. Brooks, Kmart, ariza, battier, lowry, buddinger, yao, patterson, hill, scola… thats is sick lineup, but it really revolves around yao. If yao is healthy, no question they can win the title

That’s a sick lineup on paper. I just feel that there the Blazers 2010 edition. They will make the playoffs but I see alot of people picking them for a WCF or Finals apperance when I could see them lose in round 1.

Yao, Battier and Scola are the only 3 I trust right now. Ariza is alright as well.

Chase Budinger – Good Role Player, Inconsistent Right Now But Produces

Jordan Hill – High Potential Bigman
Brad miller – Very Good Center past his prime
Chuck Hayes- Played out of position last year. Good post defender
Thats Already 12 players that could be good role players

San Antonio got way better and there looking to resign Richard Jefferson and or/ add some other players.

James Anderson, Ryan Richards, Tiago Splitter is enough for me to call them title contenders. Also, they might ship Tony Parker some where and could get pieces back.

Utah lost Boozer but then got Al Jefferson. Jefferson is 2 years old a ACL injury and could be a 25-11 type guy next season in the pick and roll.

Miller is obviously an insurance policy for that guy named Yao. Their games are actually pretty similar, too.

This is why people were dreaming when they thought Miami could find a decent center — even old guys like Miller who used to be good are getting five million, not to mention young guys like Darko…

Houston has a chance to make some noise in the playoffs with Yao back and Kevin Martin in camp.

Plus they have the best coach in the NBA in Rick Adelman — the guy always has his team ready to play, no matter how much or how little talent he has. When he was in Portland with Clyde and Kersey and Porter and Buck and Duck and Uncle Cliffy, they almost never lost to teams with losing records, when a lot of good teams have a tendency to play down to the competition.
