providencefriars1Participant11-21 neutral siteGame I watched: Missouri 87 at* Notre Dame 58I thought this game would have been close but, Mizzou really blew Notre Dame out of the gym. Missouri uses a 4 guard 1 big man lineup that really disrupted the offense of the Irish. Their intense pressure defense limited Notre Dame’s usual three point barrage and negated the size advantage. Abromaitis in his first game back looked really good adding an off the dribble game to his repertoire, but could not get space to shoot with a quicker defender on him. I was impressed that he got to the rim and looks to be a nice offensive small forward prospect, but defensively he is not quick enough to guard 3’s nor strong enough to guard post players. When he was guarding Ricardo Ratliffe, Ratliffe started 4/4 with 4 low post scores backing down Abromaitis. He is a true tweener which could hurt his NBA stock, but has a great offensive game that could make a situational player at the next level. This Missouri team looked like an elite team today and will cause many teams problems with their in your face man to man defense. Denmon, Pressey(x2), and English scored well in transition as well as hit shots in the half court which makes them a real tough cover. Add Ratliffe’s great game down low and they are basically unstoppable. They are currently ranked at 21 but I would be comfortable putting them at 15 and jumping teams like Kansas, Marquette, and Bama.Michigan 73 at* Memphis 61Tennessee 67 at* Duke 77Texas 74 at* NCST
