When do you think they start becoming buyers vs sellers?  They’ve collected draft picks like they’ve gone out of style. They have a good group of young assets they can work with. My guess it’s they don’t want to spend most their time building from scratch. I’m sure coach Stevens doesn’t want to spend an eternity in the cellar. So who is available?  Who do you keep?  You do you go after?  I think the obvious is some sort of rim protection.

The obvious answer to that is this year. Sell what you can in this next week or two, and then wait for the draft. If they get a top ten pick they will add another young piece to their nucleus, and then from here on out they can just use the Nets’ picks as bait/added luxury.

It’s been documented that they need a rim protecter, and Danny has gone out of his way to make it known that he’s going to try and trade up in this draft to get one if he can. If they do get a top 10 pick, I don’t see why they could trade to get someone like Myles Turner or WCS if they need to. Everyone knows I want Turner more than anyone outside the top 5.

Right now though, I don’t think they have nearly as much talent as other young teams do. Smart, Sully, and Young are the only real head turners on that team as far as prospects go, so they need to add to that talent base. I would keep Turner, Avery, Zeller, and Olynyk as nice bench pieces, but what they really need is a star player, or someone who can atleast put the ball in the basket.

I wouldn’t mind them going after Tobias Harris in free agency as long as he doesn’t want more than $11 mil a year. He would give them a nice go to scorer who can score in a variety of ways. I also wouldn’t mind seeing an upgrade at PF, as idealy Sully is best suited as the first man off the bench.

Next year they have a lot of cap space, and Wallace will be on the final year of his deal. If they’re going to trade for a star player (Melo, Cousins?) it’s going to be then.

Ok so let’s say they grab a rim protector in the draft and sign Harris, who is more of a power forward IMO. And you have the 3 bigs that they have now:olynyk,  zellar, sully. You want to for surely keep one,  who do you keep and why?

I would also prefer drafting WCS as a rim protector, but instead of Harris, I would try to get my hands on Greg Monroe. It would be a good frontcourt and gives you the opportunity to bring Sullinger as sixth man of the bench.

And,perfect would be,if Justise Winslow would still be available to use the other first round pick for.

If they get lucky, Stanley Johnson is a perfect fit

Sam Dekker or Devin Booker with the Clippers’ pick

Jerian Grant with the Sixah’s second rounder
