Is no secret that Boston wants to pull off the Kevin Love trade with the assets they have and there are reports saying Bos may end up trading Rondo if they are not able to get Love and goes into rebuild mode with their picks this year.

What if we turn this around? Will Minny be able to keep Love if they attempt to make him happy by making a good trade?

for

Rubio+Dieng+Shved+Chase+13th pick+(1or2 2nd round picks?)

 So the Celtics are giving away last year’s 1st round pick and their All-star, franchise-face player to move four spots up in the mid teens, and get the worst shooting PG of all time, a servicable center and expensive role players? I think not.

If Rondo is getting traded, its for either a top 10 pick, a high potential, above average player or both. I’m not even sure if Rubio is above average for his position. Either you are a huge timberwolves fan or for some reason you hate the Celtics.

He won’t be a star and he won’t ever reach top 5 status at center.  Rondo is a top 5 pg, people debate it, but he’s in the conversation. If he ever gets traded to Minny fans will see how good he is.  I’m thinking Dieng is solid starting center maybe starting next year.  You understand he only scored 20 points in one other game all year?  His fg percentages was below 50 percent, that’s not good for a Center.  He’s already 24, not like he’s some raw prospect that’s 19.  What I see is a rim protecting center that will rebound very well and give you like 12 points on a good team.  I like him, he’s the reason I would be willing to take such a low pick for Rondo.  The real trade is Rondo for Dieng and the 13th.  The rest is filler and doesn’t really matter.  No Muhammad ok, No second round picks ok, No Dieng no deal.

 I mean if they’re gonna trade Rondo, a top 20 player at least, with a VERY reasonable contract, they’d want more than that. If you were the Celtics GM and made that trade, you would be fired immediately. Why are you forcing Rondo to the Wolves? There are 28 other teams.

Nice trade idea, but its reported Rondo has said he won’t resign and thus killed the deal last year.  I also don’t think the Kings would give up that much.  Now if we could make that trade sure why not, I just don’t think a trade like that is out there for Rondo.  Maybe new Owners take the risk that Rondo walks and still trade for him, who knows.

 This Wolves offer has more value then what was discussed with Golden State for Kevin Love.  Rondo is an excellent point guard but there are far more excellent point guards than there are Kevin Love type power forwards.

I’m a huge Rondo fan, but Kevin love is a way better player.  You risk a lot more to get a special player like Love.  Rondo is maybe a top 5 point Guard in this league, Love is maybe a top 5 player.  Rondo is something like a top 25 to 35 player in this league.
