Boom, bust and average is too narrow. Like Halburton I expect him to be a guy who really improves whatever team he plays for gives the league 15 seasons but never wins any individual awards or allstars. To me thats a boom. Then Saddiq Bey. I expect him to outperform his draft position so to me thats a boom. And Lamelo I expect to be a low efficiency chucker who gets stats, because I really only see a bad team with nothing going on picking him so to me thats a bust but hes gonna get his stats. So even if he is averaging 20 and 10 in 2 years hes still a bust if hes a bad team player and a clown in front of the camera.

Do you think LaMelo will have a better career than Lonzo?
I think the most productive players of the draft, in my limited viewing, will be Anthony Edwards, Okongwu, Haliburton, Patrick Williams, Josh Green, Tyrell Terry. Some may have a good season or two or put up big numbers on bad teams, but these guys would be my picks.
I don’t know much about the draft class this year, I’ve been offline a long time. I’ve been on here under various names (Faithnomuz, The Goat, etc) for about 12 years but realised I’m logged into a different account using an old email. Funny tho, I see some old threads including a suggestion back on draft day when Anthony Davis was drafted suggesting the Hornets but the bullet and unloaded salary by swapping AD for Lillard, a peak Batum and something else. I got roasted. Looks better now with Lillard’s development. So, it made me curious.. can anyone dig up the posts that we put on here virtually every year predicting boom or bust type picks and see some of the calls over the last ten years? I bet there’s been some great ones, and some absolute shockers.

What’s with everyone and Patrick Willians?

My notes say: Very athletic, quite strong. Big shot blocker for a SF. Big time defense guy. Form looks fine, but he has a big hesitation in his jumper. Pauses. Career will depend on it. Smart. Doesn’t take too much ball. Line drives only. Handle and first step don’t let him blow by, but strength and speed help.

And that’s fine, but borderline lottery pick to me.
