 1) Significantly fewer international prospects will be taken in the second round of this draft, especially at the tail end of it.  Unlike last year, this is an incredibly deep draft.  There are a crapton of guys who will be available in the second round who would’ve been first rounders in last year’s draft. Even down in the 50’s, teams have a very decent chance of getting a guy who can immediately crack the rotation and for that reason, I see a lot more teams going international because they feel they can get a contributor in the late second and thus don’t pick a guy to stash for a few years in hopes that he could come over and be really good.  My prediction: Less than 10 international players picked in ROund 2

2) Embiid will drop.  Randle might drop a bit.  I believe these things because I think Marcus Smart goes at #4 and Gordon goes at 6 to the Celtics, who really like him.  My prediction: EMbiid AND Randle are both available at 7

3) I don’t understand all the "Raptors take a pg" hype.  If they want to bring back Lowry, I feel like the best course of action would be to not draft a point guard to scare off Lowry by giving the rookie his minutes, but instead to draft another position, a position of need, and not trying to "insure" the point guard spot in case Lowry and Vazquez do leave.  My prediction: Raptors don’t take a point guard but instead take James YOung or perhaps Capela or GRIII

4) I think the 7, the 10, or both are moved.  I could totally see a 7-10 swap that gives the 76ers Embiid and the Lakers Elfrid Payton at 10.  My prediction: Embiid goes 7, Payton goes 10 to a team other than the Sixers, the 7 or the 10 or both end up with another team.

 I agree with Embiid dropping.  Of course, I’d love for the Sixers to take him at #3, but I haven’t forgotten the report, according to Chad Ford, that the Sixers won’t let Exum get past them at #3 if he’s still available (as even Milwaukee have been intersted in him.) after his impressive workout for them. My whole mock draft now is predicated on Embiid falling out of the top 3, which will either make or break my mock, but I’m feeling pretty good about him falling out of the top 3 tonight.
