mattmancalcagnoParticipantWith the trade going down yesterday that sent maggette to detroit for ben gordon creates a hole at the sf spot for the bobcats. Does that mean the bobcats are surefire going to pick barnes at 2 or are they going to play it "safe" and take robinson.
Since they have a scorer in gordon they can choose to have him off the bench or start him over henderson. But to me its clear that both can’t play sf because they wont be able to keep up with elite sf.
Does that reopen the discussion for MKG at the 2 spot. His only flaw is his scoring, but the guy works so hard he will do anything to win so he will easily be able to fix that problem. He will be asked to gaurd the best player on the court and get points here and there while letting kemba, gordon, and henderson to take the scoring load.
I think the cats are in interesting spot, I hope they dont take MKG for his sake because the bobcats are gonna be &$#%#&@! with whoever they get in this draft. What do you guys think will happen?

cuseflynn10ParticipantI never understood why they would go after Beal, Robinson or Drummond in the first place. They have Biyombo at PF so why draft PF in back to back years? They have Mullens who has potential to grow at center. And now they have Gordon and Henderson at SG. I’ve said from the beginning that SF is their biggest need, so I think MKG or Barnes would make the most sense.
If they can trade down with Cleveland for pick #4 and #24, they should do it. MKG and Barnes would likely both be available. Why take one of them at #2 when you can get additional assests by trading down. The key will be if Cleveland is willing to sacrifice the #24 pick to move up and grab Beal, because they also have multiple holes to fill in their lineup and could use both picks.

Zeke313ParticipantYeah but you don’t pass on a prospect like Drummond because Byron Mullens is currently "holding the fort" at center. It just doesnt work that way.

Zeke313ParticipantI think the trade makes things interesting for the Bobcats. Imo Gordon is the superior player to Henderson but I don’t think that he’d be as effective as Gordon would be coming off the bench. With that being said MKG poor shooting wouldn’t be AS offset by Gordons presence since he’d more than likely be the sixth man so, my thinking is that – well, its still debatable lol I still give the edge to Barnes

ronniemiller1kParticipantbarnes for sure i keep saying it…jordan is trying to create OKC imo.
kemba = westbrook
gordon = harden
barnes = durant?
biyombo = ibaka

mattmancalcagnoParticipantI dont think it would be smart for the cavs to get rid of the 24 pick for Beal because Barnes lands at the 4 spot they have a good wing scorer in him and then they can get someone like Lamb or Jenkins with that later pick. Those two can easily reproduce what beal could do if not even better.
Also did I just see someone compare the bobcats to what the thunder did? no way can u make that comparison. Barnes will never be a kd. Walker isnt the explosive scorer that westbrook is. We havnt even seen a game with gordon in bobcats uniform but his body of work in the nba does show he is like harden. The only comparison that works is ibaka and biyombo.
