JoeWolf1Looks like the Bobcats are looking to make some moves. I found this on insder and decided to post it because I think MJ and Brown are not messing around here. If they can get a good value I think they won’t hesistate to pull the trigger especially on Jackson.
According to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, the Bobcats have been "gauging the trade value of various players, including co-captains Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace, two NBA sources confirmed Thursday."
The Bobcats, a playoff team last season, have struggled in 2010-11, and Bonnell wrote that "one source said it’s his impression the Bobcats are canvassing much of the league, to judge what they could do to salvage this season."
There was a reportthat Michael Jordan is trying to get into the mix for Carmelo Anthony, but that’s not a likely prospect at this time.
ESPN’s Chad Ford also wrote in his chat earlier this week that the Bobcats may have interest inRichard Hamilton, so if they end up dealing Jackson, Wallace or anyone else, it’s possible they could receive Hamilton in return.

NYK2010ParticipantOrlando doesn’t have much to trade outside of Pietrus and Bass.
Doubtful the Nuggets want big long term contracts in Redick, Gortat or Lewis.
The only player with great value is Dwight Howard who they won’t trade obviously.
Magic aren’t that young anymore Carter 34, QRich & Lewis 31, Nelson 29 soon, Duhon 28.

HitsterParticipantMichael Jordan’s draft choices have been rather lacking over the years and with a smaller franchise even MJ himself will have trouble recruiting top names to the Bobcats.
If Orlando make a run for Melo ir would be build around Carter’s expiring deal, maybe Orton and some first round picks.
With all respect to Charlotte they are probably not on Melo’s list of possible locations which in any case may not be beyond Number 1. New York Knicks.
The Bobcats have fallen back but they have lost Felton and Chandler was traded so they would have been into heavy luxury tax mode. MJ is a wealthy guy but he’s not Mark Cuban or Paul Allen able to pay millions in luxury tax so the Bobcats have to work within a budget.
Nazr with his nice expiring deal may get trade attention but he is their starting C and would leave them with a very weak frontcourt. There could be a case for moving one of Jackson or Wallace as the younger Tyrus Thomas should surely play a greater role than he does at present. I’d rather Jackson was moved as he is the older player but with another two years on his deal after this season would he have a lot of takers as he will be 35 when it expires.
Crash Wallace has been with Franchise from day one and is a top defensive player so trading him would be a huge risk but his trade value will not go any higher than it is at present and with Crash being such an intense player and playing lots of minutes then this could catch up with him sooner than people think. So if they are going to trade him then his value may not be higher than it is now but personally I feel the team would really struggle minus Crash.

dmo21ParticipantJackson to Chicago for Brewer, Johnson, and 2nd round pick. Chicago needs more scoring from the shooting guard position and their backup pg position is a little rough. Jackson can do both score and handle the ball, the question is do they want him in their locker room, but I think guys like Rose, Boozer, and Noah could keep him in line. Bobcats get a young defender at shooting guard in Brewer who has fallen out of rotation in Chicago a little, a young guy in Johnson who has potential, and a pick to plan for the future.
Wallace to Indiana for Ford, Hansbrough, and 1st round pick. Wallace could start as the power forward for Indiana, their weekest position, which could give them a nice push to makin the playoffs. He won’t ruin their chemistry because he is one of those guys you don’t have to draw plays for and he would be nice running with Collison. Crash would also make that defense even better. Charlotte gets an expiring contract in Ford, a North Carolina guy for MJ, and a 1st rounder to help out with the future. I was also thinking about throwing in George their cause it doesn’t look like the Cats are getting enough in return.
Wallace to the Clippers for Davis or Kaman and picks. This is a very iffy one. Wallace would look nice in LA with that team filling the void at small forward, and he wouldn’t get in the way of Griffin. The Clippers would be glad to get rid of Davis or Kaman but I don’t think Charlotte would ever take them. Yes, the Cats need a point guard but I don’t think Davis would be the answer, but he would get to play with Captain Jack again, good or bad idea?? If they wanted Kaman, he is still fairly young at 28 and can still play when not hurt and the Cats aren’t to strong at center.

HitsterParticipantI like to Wallace to Indiana idea maybe take out Hansborough or the 1st rounder for George and the deal may well appeal to MJ. Wallace would give Indiana another good back up scorer to Grainger and alongside Roy Hibbert they would have a nice contrast in Wallace.
The Bobcats get a nice expiring deal and either one or two young pieces and a possible future draft pick.

dmo21ParticipantHow about this if Charlotte wants to clean some house.
Charlotte trades Jackson, Wallace, and Diaw. Charlotte recieves Hamilton, Prince, George, Hansborough, and a pick from DET. Lineup: Augustin(Livingston), Hamilton(Henderson), Prince(George), Thomas(Hansborough), Mohammed(Brown).
Detroit trades Hamilton, Prince, and a pick. Detroit receives Jackson, Ford, and Diaw. Lineup: Stuckey(Ford), Gordon(McGrady), Jackson(Daye), Diaw(Villanueva), Monroe(Wallace).
Indiana trades Ford, George, and Hansborough. Indiana receives Wallace. Lineup: Collison(Price), Rush/Dunleavy, Granger(Posey), Wallace(McRoberts), Hibbert(Foster).
Charlotte gets a shakeup and tries to start over. I think if they wanted to they could get something nice for Mohammed cause he has an expiring contract and doesnt play that bad at all.
Detroit frees up some room on the wings and some has expiring contracts so they can rebuild again through the off season(well try). With the team they would have here, I’d hire Don Nelson and run the hell out of everybody.
Indiana gets a legit starting power forward and they would be a lock for the post season. They would have to probably look for a better back up point guard via trade, maybe someone like Calderon.
