AreopogusParticipantSo I was thinking about these teams and each have high profile FA’s.
I think they should do a Raymond Felton / Nazr Mohammed for David Lee trade.
Knicks get a PG who can run an up tempo system and would probably thrive in it. He ran a similar offense at UNC. He’s been a solid pro and is on the tip of a breakout season. Nazr is a center replacement. At age 31 he’s got a little left in the tank and could help fill what David Lee left.
Bobcats get David Lee for that consistent Double/Double back, can move Chandler to a more fitting back-up, and get Felton off the books.
Basically the Bobcats can’t let Felton/Augustine co-exist. Felton is a starter, plain and simple, as is DJ. Last year was a mess trying to juggle their minutes. Nothing will ever replace the fact that they never should have drafted DJ when Brook Lopez was on the board. Either Ray or DJ need to go and they can pull SIngletary up from D-leage to be a backup. Usually teams go with the younger, cheaper talent, especially non-contenders.
The only problem I see is Charlotte would be small up front with Diaw/Lee. But with Diop/Chandler they could add size if needed.
Augustine / Singletary
Bell / Henderson
Wallace / Radmonovic
Diaw / Brown
Lee / Chandler / DiopLee would be undersized (1 inch shorter than ‘Meka), but would be a better version of Okafor most likely (unless his numbers were severely inflated in NY).
This team would have a young backcourt with a LOT of promise in Augustine and Henderson. Wallace is hitting his prime. Bell is the defender. Diaw is the versatile mis-match. Lee is the double-double guy.
What you guys think since Lee/Felton are some of the top FA’s left.

AreopogusParticipantFelton is an upgrade over Duhon.

AreopogusParticipantI was rating Felton/Lee as similar in value and throwing in Mohammed as something extra.
Bobcats need to give up Felton or Augustine because it’s hurting both of them trying to juggle their minutes. They’ll probably go with the younger, cheaper Augustine, especially with Felton’s contract up.

Knicksboy34ParticipantDont give us trash….Mohammed? Come on now. For the Bobcats to even start talking David Lee, They would have to give up DJ Augustine.

gatorheelsParticipantThat is an ok trade… If Charlotte would give Felton, Mohammad, & a first round pick then I would do that deal.
I think the Bobcats starting lineup would look like this-
PG- Augustin
SG- Bell
SF- Wallace
PF- Lee
C- Chandler0- Posted on: Thu, 07/30/2009 - 5:02am #193001
AreopogusParticipantDiaw coming off the bench would still be good as a 6 man, but he’s so versatile pulling him off the court to make plays is tough, which is why I postulated sliding Lee to the 5 to keep Diaw in.

Knicksboy34ParticipantFelton, Mohammad, & a first round pick then I would do
They dont have a 2010 rounder….If they are not in the lottery this year they keep there pick and in 2011 it’s unprotected and goes to Minnesota.

gatorheelsParticipantCharlotte just needs an upgade at SG bad IMO. Bell just isn’t that good of a starter anymore. Henderson is just average too & will never be a quality starter. Bobcats need to make some trades.
