Jason_GrayParticipantI was just thinking…. After Davis the talent pools is very close in talent. Nobody really stands out a ‘that much’. I’m looking at the Bobcats roster and they just need to build that team from the ground up. Now, would it make sense for them to trade the #2 pick to Houston for the 12th, 14th, 16th and player or cash? I mean they can get 2 solid players and somebody with high potential. With those 3 picks, the chances of having somebody just as productive as the #2 pick is possible.
What do you guys think?

kobyzParticipantit will make sense for them but Houston will never to it, it’s too much to gave up in this kind of draft for the #2 pick which is very close in value to the #5 or #6 picks.

inbedwithyomamaParticipantI guess that deal could work, but I still think the team that has the best chance to move up to that #2 pick is Cleveland. And I don’t see OKC moving up to that spot either.

r377Participantreport:
The Bobcats have "five legit offers" for the No. 2 overall pick in Thursday’s draft, a source tells David Aldridge. The Bobcats have reportedly been trying to package Tyrus Thomas’ contract in any deal for the No. 2 overall pick, and we’re not sold a team would be willing to take on that type of financial commitment. It is expected to be a busy day for the Bobcats, a team with multiple options on the table.

rwd5035ParticipantThanks for the report r377.
I think if the Rockets are moving up, they’re trying to get Drummond to package in a deal for Dwight. However, I think they could wait until the Kings at 5 to make a move, which would require them to give up less assets.
I have a feeling the first swap will be Cleveland + Charlotte. Next trade we could see the Rockets moving to 5 to take Drummond. We could also see Portland look to move up if they want Drummond as well with Charlotte at 4. Loads of possibilities tonight. It’s going to be a fun first few hours of the draft.

monkey23ParticipantGood idea, but why would Houston do this? After all, if the chances of having somebody just as productive as the #2 pick is possible, then Houston would be best to draft 3 players and hope at least one of them are as productive as the #2 pick. Plus they could keep their additional asset (either player or cash).

Jason_GrayParticipantHouston wants Dwight Howard, right? They get the #2 pick it could be more enticing for the Magic to take, again, maybe. I haven’t really looked to see who would be apart of that trade but if Howard is their ultimate goal, then they have to do that.

KHAM83ParticipantIm one of the few who still loves Tyreke Evans potential. I think the Kings should offer up Evans for the #2 pick and Tyrus Thomas’ contract. Thomas meshes well with Cousins and the Kings can then take Beal at #2 and Lilliard or Barnes/MKG at 5.

rwd5035ParticipantI like that trade.
Do you think that’s too much for Sacramento to give up though?
