TarHeelRavenParticipantsaid next season will be his last. Unfortunately it looks like he’ll go his entire career at Wisconsin without a national title. He came so close but fell to Duke this year. He was a perfect fit in Madion with his tough-nosed grind it out style of play. A great coach and great person. Good luck to him.

BasterdInABasketParticipantI live in Wisconsin and am a big UW fan and prior to the last two never thought his style of play could ever get them to be national title contender. He definitely proved that he belongs with the elite college coaches though. His player development (no top recruits and turning a end of the bench scrub into the NPOY) and evolution as a coach was amazing to watch these last few years especially. This year he’ll do what he’s always done, turn UW into a top 25 team and top 4 in the big 10, and hopefully down the road hell have his name on the court at the Kohl Center.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantGreat coach who always seemed to get the most out of his talent level. His teams always seemed to overachieve and he really developed players better than almost any coach in the nation during his tenure. Guys like kaminsky, alando tucker and Carl Landry were not big time recruits coming into his program and left as NBA players. All significantly improved every year while at Wisconsin as did the vast majority of his players. He was one of the most innovative coaches in the country as far as his offensive philosophy, and even though it wasn’t always pretty, it was usually successful.
However, without taking anything away from his coaching ability, I have to say that I lost some respect for him after they lost to Duke in the championship this year. He never once congratulated the winning players or coach. All he did was compain about the lack of calls and even referred to the Duke freshmen as "rent a players" in a very unflattering fashion. I’ve honestly never seen a losing coach react so poorly after a national championship game and it really surprised me given Ryans reputation. I understand it was an emotional moment, but as the face of your program you have to show more class in moments like that.
